I would argue that Wallace Wade probably makes the top 10 over Shug and Dye. Wade had 3 unbeaten seasons, won the Rose Bowl on two of those and tied in the other. Frank Thomas as well, with two undefeated seasons both with Rose Bowl wins (including 1945).

I'd be curious about the logic of Gene Stallings below Pat Dye when Stallings won a national championship and Dye did not.

Outside of the top two you could argue the rest. Although, I’m not sure Vince should be in the top ten anymore

Feel like Pat Dye was the best coach in the SEC throughout the 80s even though he didn't win a title. He might be the best SEC coach to never win a title. Gene Stallings had a dominant 3 year stretch but feel like Pat Dye won more over a longer time and got jipped in 1983.

Unless he burns out, he has another 15-20 years to leave no doubt, at least as to the claim to #3. But I don't know how a coach keeps from getting burned out in this era.

If Saban is the GOAT then it is because he coached at the last football factory in America. At UAT Saban had an unlimited and unsurpassed budget for overall payroll, NIL, recruiting, gold-plated facilities and most importantly no pushback from the admissions office or the Bama administration. Bama football is only very vaguely associated with the University of Alabama and for all intents and purposes it is a totally autonomous organization. How would have Saban done at GA Tech, Purdue, NC State, Vanderbilt or any football program with any integrity or admissions requirements? The point is, the drive-thru window guy at McDonald's could win 9-10 games every year at Bama.

Kind of like how you tree huggers won all those director's cups over the years. Investment and facilities and coaches for all those badazz tennis teams. Nothing new under the sun.

Tell you don’t know shite about Vandy and Tech without actually saying it. I’ve sent multiple athletes to both schools that were below average students. Not Ed Lacy dumb, but they take them all the same.

You can say this about any coach. You have to have the players to win games.

Saban on equal footing in the NFL was a bust.

Thats why I said OU coaches, probably more OU than Texas to be honest, 100% agree with you. For Texas I would say Darrel Royal and Mack Brown
