No doubt they can claim him, he's a native son and has accomplished something most athletes never do. There's nothing wrong with people from Louisiana being proud of him and bragging that he's from their state.

That's interesting. I guess we can call it the Big Trifecta. DeVonta has as much the clutch gene as Jalen Hurts. Maybe it's all those situations he's been put in but Jalen and Smitty have been a thing since 2017.
One game that stands out as a future reference was the '17' Miss State game in Starkvegas. The game was 24-24 with about 30 seconds to go from the Dawgs 25-yard line. Jalen hits true freshman DeVonta Smith with a beautiful strike over the deep middle and Smitty takes it to the house for a huge comeback win. Looking back, just a precursor for what was coming that season. Can anyone say 2nd and 26 and a NC? I knew you could.

How many others have done it? Charles Woodson & Reggie Bush are the only others that come to mind.

The record books say otherwise. Burden of proof is on you that it doesn't count and according to the record books, it counts. So you'll have to choke that Alabama NC down just like you have all the others.
