Obviously it depends on how well this team does in the postseason.
Sweet 16?
Elite 8?
Final 4?
Personally, if this team doesn't at least make it to the Elite 8 I would be disappointed
I know when you get to that point in March Madness there are so many variables involved and it's really hard to predict, but just based on how this team has performed up to this point that's how I feel.

I want the regular season SEC championship. To me that is success regardless of what happens in the tournament.
I will be disappointed with anything less than an elite 8 appearance but wouldn’t consider it an unsuccessful season especially with a conference championship. Anything can happen in a tournament setting. Rarely does the best team win March Madness. Takes a good team, some breaks to go your way, some calls to go your way, and execution at a high level on offense and defense for 6 straight game. Very difficult to do.
To put into perspective most talking heads consider the SEC the greatest conference season on a whole in the history of conferences this season. Winning it would be a massive, massive accomplishment.

56% of #1 seeds have made the final four.
That’s my expectation.

A short-term goal? not losing to Bama twice.
I'll update after that.

But just generally speaking it’s already been a successful season. Anytime with our history that we have a good/great team is a success. I know it’s a new time in Auburn basketball history but outside a season or 2 here or there we had some terrible teams. A good season prior to Bruce was just having a winning season and finishing close to .500 in conference play. Maybe my 40+ years of watching bad basketball has me with extremely low expectations. I’m just enjoying the ride whatever happens happens. I want it all but happy with where Auburn basketball is. Make another 6-7 year run and changing the course of Auburn basketball future.

Oh another thing. More than likely we could lose the remainder of our games. And still be an 8/9 seed at worse in the dance.

In order of merit:
1. Win NCAA tournament
2. Make final 4
3. Win regular season SEC
4. Make elite 8
5. Win SEC tournament
6. Make Sweet 16

You might be right in that they would punish us for being on a 9 game losing streak, but our resume would be more like a 4 or 5 seeed

Gotta be SEC season champs at minimum. That is a true testament to how good a team is imo.
A single-elimination tournament is such a different animal than a season championship. Anything can happen in a tournament and it doesn't necessarily reflect on how good or bad a team really is.
But, gun to my head and I have to pick a tourney result based on how the season has gone to this point...getting eliminated before the Elite Eight would feel like a disappointment for sure.

Win it all. Honestly don't think there is any other team in the top 10 right now which is extraordinarily dominant and unbeatable. We will lose Broome, Chaney, Denver and Cardwell after this season, so this is our best chance for another couple of years.

It's already been a successful season and a historic one for Auburn. Unanimous #1, first ever Maui win (over extremely strong field). Likely multiple SEC/school records for wins against Q1/ranked opponents.
That said, if we hit a big slump going into the back half of SEC play and didn't win at least a share of the title, I'd be slightly disappointed.
If we stay healthy, I'll be disappointed if we don't at least make the second weekend, probably E8 if I'm being honest.
This team has the pieces to win a title though - it's just so much harder to do in a tournament setting. Need luck as well.

I mostly agree with this. This season has been successful so far, but we have so much more to achieve that my excitement and nervousness will only escalate in leaps and bounds as we get closer. I dont care about the SEC tournament championship.
My short term goal is to win the regular season championship and not get swept by Bama.

Champions.
You dont get this opportunity often. Must take advantage of it
If they have no major injuries, they should win it all
15-0 ship.

I would love that...I also thought last season was a really good season. When they won the SEC Tourny I was ecstatic - but that feeling was short lived when they got bounced in the 1st round of the NCAA's. That first round loss put a huge shadow over the SEC Tourny championship

Last year was an extremely nice season regardless of what we did in the postseason. Postseason definitely sucked. We wouldn't have beat UConn but it would've been a better exit than Yale. I blame CBM for Yale.
