Whatever it takes, when he was hired the rant thought it was a bad hire and that he would get canned quickly. The rant thought we should hire Billy...and he is far more likely to get canned.

He was literally on the hot seat at the start of the season. I had threads on it all season, SC fans agreed, but he got off the hot seat mid season. I think the only one that finished on a hot seat was BV, but he made new hires.

lol you clowns were Rdy to fire him last season lol….. to funny . Sometime told me if South Carolina doesn’t win out they wouldn’t want him back … I preceded to tell him so your saying you expect South Carolina to lose 2 games a year when in the entire history that has happened u see 10 times lol…. Make it make sense !

It's too bad Shane and Bert didn't play in the mayo bowl this year. You know Bert would be lapping it up as they dumped it on his head.

no he wasnt. He was in zero danger this year. There is a big difference in message board fan reactions and the thoughts of the AD/School. Tanner wasnt going to fire shane after this year unless it was just abysmal.

Fans ride that roller coaster in every fan base. We have high expectations and unless every team finishes 4-4 in conference play (that is not happening) then there will always be fans pissed at seasons end and thinking their coaches are crap. For every 8-0, 7-1 and 6-2 conference record there will be an 0-8, 1-7 and 2-6 team....it's the way the math works.

Butch beat what....4 ranked teams during his 5 years at Tennessee?
Shane took over a program that Muschamp screwed over, and has beat 3 top 10 teams, and several other ranked teams. Dude has lost us some game yes, but he has won us some big ones. I think the admin is willing to let him continue to grow at Carolina.
Comparing Butch and Shane is a bit dramatic

Crazy that $8M/yr is middle of the pack in the SEC these days. Thats behind Stoops, Drink, Heupel and Venables from this past year still
I remember when people raised eyebrows at Bowdon and Spurrier in the mid 90s when they got $1M/yr deals and Spurrier's got literally doubled to $2M after he won the natty in 1996.
In the late 2000s Saban was at $3.75M at Bama and I remember LSU had to match whatever the highest paid coach was so Miles got that as well..
Now we have several coaches making in excess of $10M/yr coming up and Kirby makes like $13M+
