So those of you expecting a year or two of Ty ball, with Keelon studiously preparing to take over as a sophomore or a junior, ... no chance.

The National Gatorade Player of the Year and arguably the best QB in his class is confident enough to think he can start as a true freshman. Shocking development.

If only we had a recent example of a freshman phenom sitting behind a veteran player who's paid his dues and then taking over to start for 2 years and then go #1 in the draft. I simply can't think of any similar situations.

Not gonna lie, he looks like he has the talent to start and do pretty well as a true freshman, especially in this offense. He seems like a lab made QB for this offense, with a phenom wideout like Williams no less.

It will be very hard for him to beat out a 4 yr former 5-star college player. Possible but unlikely.

The list of championship level freshman starters at QB is basically nil.
If Tua and Bryce needed a year it’s almost impossible to expect this guy rolls in ready to take on this schedule:

Wisc
@UGA
Vandy
@missou
TN
@SC
LSU
OU
@AU
There are probably 8 top 25 teams on that schedule and 6 teams who could be top 10.
Asking a TF to go into those road settings and that schedule is begging for a 4+ loss season.
If Tua and Bryce needed a year it’s almost impossible to expect this guy rolls in ready to take on this schedule:

Couldn't or did the new HC play a guy to retain the majority of a team he inherited from the GOAT in college football? I lean to the latter. Time will tell.

I would bet your life that Keelon is a lot better QB than Milroe. He will there there for spring and summer so he will have time to show what he can do.

He will wait a year. If Ty wins it this year, hopefully he has a great year and jumps to the NFL after a year as a starter.
Keelon can win the job in 2026. Though he can win it in 2025 too, the opportunity will be there.
