There are outside specialists that can help. Why not talk to somebody who's tried them?

We've been a shite FT shooting team for over 30 years.

Where have you been?

I mean, if we lose just two in SEC play I'll be fricking thrilled. We've really picked it up the last two games and our 10 man rotation is scary.

"The Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team's free throw percentage (FT%) for the 2024-2025 season is .707. This ranks them 208th."
I hope I'm wrong, but at this rate, I'm afraid I won't be.

Those guys that can’t shoot free throws won’t be on the court in close games.
And that’s mostly the reserves.

Bama is #237th in FT % right now. Bama was 20th last year.

Grant Nelson is hitting 66% this year. He made 81% last year. Sears went from 85% to 81%. Reid, a first year player, has he 3rd most attempts and he's at 50%.

I think it will get better as the season goes on, but it ain't great right now.

Yeah that is concerning but I'm sure Nate knows it and will work on it

We don't want to be shooting FTs so poorly in the tournament because that could cost us.

Won't matter in the tournament, the refs will allow the other teams to reverse suplex Bama players in the lane and they won't call it. Good tough D they will say. Not a foul call or free throw to be had.

Might be like the Memphis team a few years back, super talented but lost to Kanas in the CG because they couldn't hit free throws.
Or most recently, Bama missed the Elite 8 due to missing free throws. The board superfans and basketball snobs like to say it's because UCLA was having a super tournament, but Bama could have easily won that game if they a hit a couple of free throws to stay out of overtime.

I’d be shocked if anyone said we didn’t lose because we shot so poorly. You can’t defend 11-25 from FT and 7-28 from 3.

ETA: I’d be interested to see what I said after the game on here. I hope I had a good melt.
