My pick? 2019 LSU.

-Scored more points than any team ever. 726.

-Won the Heisman, Maxwell, Walter Camp,Davey, Biletnikoff, Jim Thorpe, Broyles, and coach of the year.

- Never once trailed in the 4th quarter. Not once.

-trailed by double digits one time. Against Clemson. Then outscored them 35-8.

-Beat 7 top ten teams. That's the most ever.

-Beat 4 top 5 teams.

- Only team to ever defeat the entire preseason top 4. 3 of them were their last three games. The other was Alabama on the road.

Clemson , Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia were a combined 60-4 against everyone else.

2019 LSU beat them all by an average of 20 points.

Basically, you guys will be arguing for second place. But its still fun.

2022 Georgia because I’m biased. I will not elaborate.

2022 Georgia was certainly best defense. If the Ohio State game hadn’t been so close I think they’d get the nod but I’ll give it to 19 LSU

Is this the same team that finished with the 8th best defense in the SEC, averaged less than 43 yards per punt (10th in the SEC), missed 4 extra points & only hit 50% of field goals between 40-49 yards?

That “team?”

Or did you mean to start a thread to argue about the best offense?

Was a classic though. Once 19 LSU hit the playoffs it was just blowouts. Didn't get the walk off fg game

And they didn’t need a global pandemic to limit games, fans, and rosters to do it,

2019 LSU played against the #2, #4, and #6 offenses. Couldn't play against #1 because they couldn't play themselves.

But clearly the 8th best SEC defense was enough to contend with those.

So yes. Best team .

Undoubtedly best season, if you can't agree with best team.

I'll say this about 2019 LSU. Best college QB season of all time. Undisputed.
2019 LSU played some good teams but still played 3-4 cupcakes.

Best team? Nah.

2020 Bama had a better offense.
2020 Bama had a better defense.
2020 Didn't play a single cupcake except LSU.

I am a big time LSU homer. With that being said, would have loved to have seen the 2019 LSU team against the Ohio st team that just played. Would have been a great game.

Stout.

Georgia destroyed their opponent ... in the Natty game. Props.

I mean I'd like to see any of our teams from 2011 to 2020 play this Ohio State team. Would destroy this Ohio State edition 10 of 10.

95 Nebraska was the best team I’ve ever seen

Averaged 53 a game. Only gave up 14 a game

Had one game that wasn’t a blowout. It was a 14 point win where Nebraska fumbled twice inside the 5 and Washington st scored one of their TDs late against reserves

2020 Alabama Football (faced no creampuffs)

2025 Auburn Basketball (tremendously powerful team)

Came here for this one. I’d say 2019 LSU is the runner-up. Amazing how much more likable they were with Ed O at the helm too.
