Just another long season…

I don't think it's heavily indicative of anything. Just one of those games. Doesn't make it any less excruciating to watch, though.

Loss on the road to the #1 (currently) team in the nation. Not surprising.
The margin is what was a little disconcerting. Didn't see a lot of fight or scrappiness.
How they respond to this beatdown is what I'll be watching for.

It's not a complete "just flush it" game, because there's a lot to take away from the rebounding specifically, but the whole team played below their averages in pretty much every metric today. Just a really bad game.

Tennessee nearly had as many offensive rebounds as we had total rebounds LOL

37% from the field, 20% from 3, 46% from the line.
That's about as bad as it gets.

Our effort was trash on the boards. Very concerning. Do they have that dog in them......

Theiro got exposed today. He's our leading scorer but he's been getting fat on weak defenses. We can't rely on him to carry us offensively.
Davis has got to be better. I know he's been injured but #3 in the transfer portal has been a total bust. Not sure how much longer we can wait on him to get it together. Knox may be the better option.

Idk about that, 26 vs Illinois and 24 vs Baylor, 13 vs Michigan and he was sick for that game. This is college he isn't going to drop 20+ every game especially on the road.
Way too many overreactions from playing the #1 team on the road first game of conference play. It's like people forget 80% of road teams lose in CBB. Road teams went 1-7 to open SEC play with Vandy over LSU as the only win and those two teams are bottom 2-3 in the conference.
Bama beat OU by 28.
aTm beat Texas by 20.
Aubie beat Mizzou by 16
MSU beat USCe by 35.
Ole Miss beat UGA by 12.
The only road game that was even close was UF @ KY two top 10 teams. Games weren't even competitive yesterday.
Until we lose at home or play/look awful at home it's pretty irrelevant.
We may only have a shot on the road to win at LSU, Mizzou, USCe, Vandy.

No way man. Have you been under a rock for 24 hours? He had one bad game after dominating for 13 games, so now he sucks.

OP is right though. It’s a very long season. Long enough that in 2022 a team lost 6 out of 8 games in a stretch in January, only to eventually dominate every game in the tournament, on the way to a title.

There was a moment at the end of the game where Brazile was getting bullied around a and started just batting at the ball and swinging at it. It was comically soft. That was the most important thing i took fron the game. Outside of adioo we are ridiculously soft

It's sad seeing what Florida and Kentucky were able to get out of the portal vs us.
This team can still make the tourney but we are shockingly thin on big bodies.

I feel like teams just feast on us when Z gets in the game. He’s a better shooting Vanover.

Let’s let the first month of the SEC season play out.
There aren’t going to be many road wins in the league this year. Top 15 Oklahoma got blown out at Alabama. Texas got blown out at aTm. Missouri got blown out at Auburn. Florida lost at Kentucky.
Hogs have a solid team.

This game had all the ingredients for a blowout. So much so that I didn’t bother to watch it.
This doesn’t define the entire season.

One things for sure.. They have to perfect the little things like rebounding, limiting turnovers, and making free throws.
If you aren't giving your best effort in those categories you aren't going to win many games in this conference.

I'm not crying wolf on the team just yet, but there is no excuse for going 46% from the line. Even for a Cal team, that's ridiculous. My daughters pee wee team shot better than that.

They got out rebounded almost as many points as they scored

So much lipstick you can put on a pig
