TV ratings?

How do you think it will turn out? I think it could be really bad. Some bad teams and some bad games. Head to head with two important NFL games, including the reigning champs and a national brand in the Steelers. Some of the second round games aren’t very appealing either. I don’t know if the NFL overlaps those or not.

Texas game was okay. I had Tennessee game on but I didn’t watch much of it.

I didn't watch a single game today.
I don't watch TV and I'm certainly not paying for it just to watch this crap.
Not to mention I'd be giving Disney/ESPN money and they are a terrible company, so that's even more incentive.

They won’t even be close. NFL is king

They already knew they were going to be terrible. That's why the first two games were on TNT and Max. Tennessee totally flopping screwed the ratings for that game. I imagine they will be terrible. And whoever put UGA at 8:45 ET in New Year's Day against their opponent (who we know now is Notre Dame) should be fired. Most people don't have Jan 2 off. New Year's Day is a Wednesday. Not surprised they frick this shot up so bad.

New Years Day has traditionally been Rose Bowl Mid-Late Afternoon with Sugar Bowl in Prime Time. No idea what you’re upset about when this has been the case for longer than most on this board have been alive.

And it's always been stupid as shite. I'm complaining because that game doesn't end until after midnight eastern time. Most people have to work on Jan 2. It should be 6:45 CT. 7:45 ET

I watched most of the OSU UT game but about ten minutes of the others
Who cares at this point? CFB is bad almost across the board

Rose Bowl trumps everything…sugar should be the lead in noon game

I've been real interested b/c it was college football history. These first two games today are on TNT. If ratings are taken based on who watched the first 5 minutes and turned on comedy show reruns or went xmas shopping, then the ratings won't be very good

Bad ratings will get things changed quick. No way ESPN is happy paying big $ for lousy ratings.

Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl will do well. The others probably won’t.

The ratings for games that are blowouts are never good. The one good thing about these blowouts is it will speed up the timeline on the Big 10 and SEC breaking away.

Depends on when they pull the numbers. If they pull in the 1st quarters of the CFB games, they’ll be ok. Not record breaking, but just ok. If they pull after the 2nd quarter, they’ll be shot as I’m sure a ton of people switched to the NFL games.

Big thing is going to be the drop out factor , especially
the Indiana and SMU games .... and you could feel them
tuning out the second half of the Tennessee -- Woody Hayes State
game. The tv cash register takes a hit. Even so , the extra
games mean more money regardless. Disney paid $1.3 billion
for the playoffs this time , so that's money already on the table.

These games got subbed out by ESPN to TNT because they didnt want the bad ratings going up against same time slot as NFL games. 12:00 and 4:00 games. Didn't help that the college games sucked arse. The ratings for first round will be awful, and interest will continue to dwindle if nothing can be done to reign in NIL, and transfer portal! Leave it up to the government of the mighty United States of America to frick shite up, and surely that will happen.

Even if it is, they’d never tell the truth. They’ll say something like… second most watched program in 650 days that started after 8:05 in December. Typical Media. But we all know, TV viewership is way down. That’s one reason for the expansion. To try to get more viewers across the country.
