Herbstreit - Indiana did not belong on the same field with the Irish
Davis - Indiana beat NOBODY
Pat - SMU better have a great game today vs Penn St or the argument is going to get ALOT louder

If feels like the 12 team playoff is going to the nine Circles of Hell before it even gets started. But its hard to argue with what they are saying. The real question is how to fix it?

Give full story. Saban started off with needs to be tweaked but far better and will be great moving forward vs other system.

I mean, everybody knew all of these things before the games were even played. It's not like last night's game was some sort of revelation.

It's a multi-faceted problem. Look at what happened to a team like Indiana then remember that Boise State and Arizona State got byes. Indiana would more than likely be the Vegas favorite against both.

It's almost like the results that were supposed to happen. Nature taking its course. Kismet, karma, laws of physics.

I'm not sure we'll get similar results in the SMU game nor the UTa/SHSBT game.

Any system that doesn’t have the 12 best teams will be a flawed system. Sorry to have to state the obvious.

Get rid of conference championship games and replace them with conference play in games. every major conference gets ones. if the one and two teams in your conference make the playoff, then 3 and 4 play for a spot.

You don’t. The SEC and a major media company is breaking away. We’re seeing it happen in real time.

Treating conference champs as equals was full retard. By far the most glaring oversight.

Schools will have to schedule more difficult ooc games. The committee is going to have to reward it by not just looking at records and take a 2 or 3 loss team that played a difficult ooc schedule.

There will always be these type of games. You can't fix it.

There were these types of games and worse when the field was 4 teams. Expansion was dumb to begin with. There are not 12 national title level teams at any given point.

None of this was ever for the integrity of the competition. It's for entertainment purposes only.

As much as I want to disagree I’ve been saying for weeks that we’re not ready yet- give us a year or 2 and we’re winning this whole thing. Glad to be in the discussion but yeah it’s not happening today.

Pay attention to strength of schedule.

It's not rocket science.

They won 11 games, the games have to matter.

If the games don’t matter why even play to begin with?

What in the frick is everyone even talking about? Michigan won the natty last year by 3 touchdowns. Georgia won the year before by a million. There are blowouts every year in the college football post season as there are in every sport in the world. Now Notre Dame beats Indiana by 10 points and we need to blow up the system?

I didn't know the talking heads at ESPN were this sensitive.
