We've all read the standard portal farewell message. "thankful for opportunity" blah blah blah "much love for the fans of ________" yada yada yada "thanks to all my teammates and coaches"...... blah blah blah.

We, the fans of SEC teams, deserve better. So here is a handy farewell that players can just copy and paste to their favorite social media page.

Hey, this is "player X" just wanted to say to the fans, so long poor's, school "X's" fans are paying more green. To my teammates, GFY, I'm in it for ME. To my former coaches, GFY, I'm in it for ME. And to my new and improved team, I'm 100% committed until a better offer comes along. Peace out

There are some cases of players creating a better opportunity for themselves, but some of these transfers make 0 sense.

Why bash the kids for trying to leave respectfully? Isn’t that the way all professionals should handle it when changing employers?

I'd love to see attendance and money for football start falling off. Its already started at the pro level.

This is the only way this changes.

Until we, as fans, stop giving them our money, they will see no reason to change the system.

Actually, the NFL game’s more valuable & popular than ever. And, the CFB playoffs are going to draw healthy ratings.

I expect the TV revenue sharing negotiations with the newly formed players union will create multi-year deals.

Yeah I get a guy at USM or Louisiana tech who got better and now the lsu Alabamas of the world take notice. But to be a starter at one program just to go to another on the same level makes no sense if you goal is the NFL

That is one. Here is another.

Hey, this is (unpronounceable name). My parents and I think I am a superstar, but it appears we are the only ones. I know I was a 5 star, but I am tired of riding the bench behind that 3 star who is now an actual superstar on the field. I am transfering to a school that is so thin at (position here), I will basically be competing against the waterboy and cheerleaders for playing time. Love y'all.

Yesterday I read where they don't expect strong ratings. I don't have an opinion either way. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Honestly, I do the same with my job. I've bounced around my industry for the past 14 years and have received raises every single step of the way. It's either that or sit around with my thumb up my arse waiting for a raise that never comes while I continue to produce and make my employer money. frick that, I'm loyal to me and my family, not my employer.

So I can't really point fingers and blame the players in this new age of college football.

90% of it is starters going somewhere else to start or backups going somewhere else to end up still being a backup. Most probably have a more clear path to playing time staying put, letting everyone else leave, and taking advantage of their existing knowledge of the playbook and relationships with the coaches.

Of all the transfers that left Bama last year, I can’t think of any that significantly improved their situation. I get the center leaving for a fresh start after all the negativity around the bad snaps. But that’s it.

It drives me up a wall when they put "God's plan." Uh no its greed's plan...literally the opposite of God's!
