Don't be fooled. Norvell, Brian Kelly, Gundy at Oklahoma State, etc. It will be all of them making these donations before long.

Coaching salaries had to come back to earth, even mediocre coaches were all making huge numbers.

Schools need the money for Rev Share. The days of crazy coaches contracts are over. Schools literally need 25 million dollars to pay for Rev Share July 1st and are scrambling to make it work.
That is why Arkansas and Kentucky didn't make changes and why Billy got the vote of confidence so early in the season. Schools can't afford to pay buyouts right now.

This is the first season that NIL has taken over college football and everyone from donors to coaches to the fanbase are being asked to pony up to attract top talent and keep it there.
I don't see this as sustainable in the long run. People at every level are going to burnout being asked for more above and beyond what they would normally contribute to a program.
Change will continue to evolve the game and I foresee a time, probably not that long from now, when athletes will tell the new guys how good the money was in 2024 and 2025 compared to whatever it becomes.

Just like the NFL, where QB's rework their contracts to allow for free agency.
Coaches are egregiously paid anyway.

The fact you couldn’t previously pay players over the table lead to a bubble for coaching salaries and facilities.
Players will get average coaching and facilities going forward. We’ll see how this affects development but I predict football is going to be played much more sloppily.

Some tax breaks out of this as well.
Nobody is fooled.
Nobody is fooled.

Are you suggesting Mark Stoops is mediocre? Cause I agree if you are.

This is the biggest crock of shite comment. Most of these college coaches are mid. Some are elite teachers of the game but most aren't. Furthermore, where are these coaches going to go? The NFL? Most will not.

When Hugh Freeze is making $6.7 million a year and a $20m buyout to have losing seasons something is fricked up.

The exchange of wealth will look like the NFL by the time it is said and done. You'll have most of your starters making more money than their head coach. Try telling a 17-22 year old what to do when his paycheck is bigger than yours. Good luck with that college coaches...
