Imagine for a moment the first time you saw Jalen Milroe play QB for the UofA, you knew without any doubt in your mind that he would never be a title contending QB. Imagine knowing the goal of winning a title was dead before the season began.

I watched Milroe closely from the start and immediately could see:

*Terrible footwork

*Zero Pocket awareness

*An inability to process what the defense was showing pre snap

*Inability to provide ball security (Definition of turnover machine- was never an IF but WHEN)

*Inability to make the calls, shifts, audibles, or even the ability to recognize blitz situations and execute hot reads.

*NEVER learned to climb the pocket. For years the dude would drift back into the dead center of the rushing lanes, and sit there like a dead duck in the exact spot the tackles should be able to use to harmlessly redirect rushers. This combined with zero pocket awareness... oh boy.

*Could not even be trusted to make the simplest of decisions at the mesh on zone read plays almost always calling his own number to the teams detriment, and stealing TD's from RB's inside the five yard line to pump his own stock.

Now think about how Alabama hired an offensive guru that timidly, but publicly stated that he could not install his offense with Milroe at QB. Now think back to DeBoer stating that Bama would "build the offense around what Milroe was comfortable with," which turned out to be 4 verticals and nothing short of hail mary or bust. You cant operate an offense like this at any level above backyard football.

Now, let's think about how MIlroe became the poster child for NIL, and used Alabama football to promote his cringy AF brand that made a fool of the entire program and university. LANK ? Is there anyone here that wouldn't take a pill that promised to erase any knowledge of LANK from your brain forever ?

Now an even darker truth-

Through more bad judgement from the new HC, Jalen Milroe will have his hands and feet cemented permanently as a team captain next to players that gave their heart and soul to the UofA, but most importantly to their team - their brothers in the locker room... This honor will be bestowed upon a guy that not once but TWICE this year threw a pick 6 where he was the only player on the field that could make the tackle and he made a business decision placing himself above the entire team... Bama lost both games... it turns my stomach.

A captain that didn't bring the locker room together, but rather caused division and turmoil. A captain, that like a politician went on a media blitz pre season to leverage his position. Captain ? After this what does it really mean anymore ?

The fallout:

In one season without the GOAT we went from being a perennial 4 team playoff contender to missing a Fing 12 team playoff. For what ? To keep Milroe, Booker, and a few others from transferring when CNS retired ?

If they simply would have announced a QB competition, made no promises, and let the cancers transfer...

Now our offense is yet another year behind because we didn't install DeBoers offense this season. The QB's will have to begin learning the actual system. Instead of going into next season primed to run the DeBoer offense at full capacity we will be installing and running it for the first time. What a wasted opportunity. Wasted reps. Wasted time. Wasted season. All for captain Lank

I still have hope for DeBoer, but the amount of bad judgement... man, he would have to win some HUGE games... I mean put some trophies in the case for me to completely forgive him for this total debacle of a season.

We were getting our brains beat out by 5-5 Oklahoma, and had 3 points... any shot of Milroe on the sideline showed him shoving crayons up his nose, and DeBoer didn't have the guts to give the TEAM the SEASON at least a chance by making a QB change ? It was Cowardly, and the entire team has been punished.

This all could have been avoided by taking the high road, and taking command of the entire program the way CNS did on day 1. He took that podium and announced every position would be earned. He announced everyone from boosters to secretaries would do it his way or they would be gone. There were no deals, there was no debate, there was only the path forward - get onboard, or get left behind, or get ran TF over.

"The same things win that always won"

Sorry to vent, but I couldn't move on until I got this off my chest.

I hope everyone is healthy, well fed, and surrounded by loved ones this Christmas.

You sound totally irrational, but I'm glad you got that off your chest if that's what you needed. None of what you wrote has ever been discussed before, so I'm sure it was therapeutic.

Merry Christmas.

Edit - Regarding your captain spiel, he was actually named a team captain *LAST* season, Nick Saban's final one. And the team votes on it, not coaches, and certainly not fans.

True captain, leader, teammate actually did get a plaque... and a title. He played like a warrior, he played like he genuinely loved his teammates. Can you imagine him dodging a tackle with the season on the line ?

I didn’t read all that but I can appreciate the effort. You know what we all know now. The Pro’s and Con’s of Milroe

And I’m not sure what the ppls moderator actually does. We already have two that has to put up with smartasses, trolls, know it alls, dickheads, pricks, assholes, dumbasses and some batshit crazy motherfrickers.

Regarding your captain spiel,

I'm not certain the players would have voted him a captain with everything that transpired this season, and I disagree with the decision to name captains before the season begins.

Who gives AF what you think. You literally led the Milroe bandwagon for a while, and openly mocked people that knew Milroe was a disaster far before you ever figured it out. You proved you had no idea what you're talking about when it comes to football this season.

Stick to baseball bud. And btw, LGM! I'm sure the Soto signing stings.

You didn't have to go into all of that just say "You knew from the first time you saw Milroe we weren't winning a NC." and you'd been spot on. You got to deep into your emotions.

Or don't. Whatever works for him. You can't tell him what to do.

I agree 100%. Never mind the downvoters and dissenters. They don’t want to see the truth. They set a low bar for Milroe and don’t like to see facts in that regard.

I do hate we totally squandered the big win over Georgia early on. Man...had some high hopes kicking back at halftime of that game lol.
