MM is on the teaching staff at the University of Texas when he's not busy roaming the sidelines at Longhorns games.

I like MM but he seems to be a distraction on the sidelines...at the very least, he shouldn't be interacting with players during a game.

Agreed. I had a coat just like the one he wears.....in 1984, as a high school freshman.

That fella sure does have a Texas sized ego.

I don't mean to post that in a good way.

I like Matthew McConaughey as well, but it blows my mind that people think he has some deep and unique perspective on life.

He has been hanging around Hollywood his entire life . . .65% of the time doing type-cast, B-Grade boy toy roles. But I guess he can right a book on philosophy and teach based on that.

We worship celebrities. No matter what they school they pull for. Matthew has some fine perspectives and anecdotes but many of the rest of us do as well.

He hasnt lived in Hollywood for more than 20 years, and he left to get away from what you just said.

He may not have any perspective on life that's unique or particularly deep, but he does have a positive message and his stature gives him a platform to share it. What's wrong with that?

I don't find anything particularly objectionable about the message . . .it is more a realization that in this day and age more and more people listen to self-appointed influencers with little perspective. I would listen to him for hours regarding the acting profession or the ins and outs of the film business but I am just not sure his motivation for trying to be some guru, especially in such a public, profit-oriented manner.

There are many sources of wisdom of life . . .actors just aren't a fount of wisdom in my book however.

He hasn't lived in Hollywood for 2 decades.

He comes across as a pretty grounded/regular dude.
