Headed to Purdue. UNLV grabbing Mullen is a great move. He's a better HC than Odom and probably thrives at a school like that with the way NIL is changing the landscape. Get Mullen a DT QB with a couple skill players and they're going to continue to be a pain in the arse in the Mountain West

Mullen has a few screws loose. When he was at Florida that dude needed mental meds. Maybe he is better now days.

I’m surprised Mullen took the job. He could have done a bigger school tho he loses one game at UNLV, he’s in the playoffs. Probably with a bye.

Good to know we retained Pittman when we could have had Mullen. I hate our administration. We are not a serious program.

Even so, the best roster UNLV can muster will get smashed in the playoffs eventually, even with a bye. Maybe he's thinking he can parlay success to a better gig? He's already flamed out in the SEC. Maybe he wants a shot at a Big 10 contender or Notre Dame?

Crazy right. And Mullens is probably gonna make less than half of what Sam makes. He said before he wanted to be a HC again, that’s why I found it odd the Sooners tried to interview him as OC.

I don't know why he would settle for UNLV. Thats a hell of a get for them if this works out. He's one of the best X and O's coaches out there. Maybe not a great head coach, but his play calling more than makes up for it at a school like UNLV.
My concern is that he was literally losing his mind in 2020 from COVID, BLM, NIL, and all the changes that hit the sport. I think he is more than slightly autistic and he couldn't deal with change. He wanted out to the NFL, he mentally NEEDED out. I just don't see any signs that the rate of change in the college game is slowing down. The potential for him to have another meltdown is there, but I guess it is worth the risk for a school like UNLV.

Are you kidding me? If he can get UNLV relevant there will be plenty of high rollers around town to funnel money into the program. 9 wins a year and he can coach there for 20 years making bank. He can get a QB in the portal with his history of coaching QB's like Tebow, Prescott, and Trask.
