I think he wants Auburn. Think he could be a really good QB before he's finished.

Michael Van Buren simply wanted $1.5M million guaranteed signing bonus, $250k/yr base annual salary with workout bonuses, and incentives for reaching the post season. Seems pretty reasonable in today’s NIL world.

I think he wants Auburn. If Auburn doesn't sign him then I suspect other SEC schools will get involved. Wouldn't be surprised if LSU was in play here.

and this is what is going to destroy college football.
There is no way a team can rebuild today or build up a program. The talent is going to get poached. You almost have to haul in a whole class AND transfers at one time just so you don't have one or two great players while you develop your roster.

Welcome to the new era of college football. Dude won 1 game and will likely go to the highest bidder although I doubt he gets the full 1.5. I hate minor league football.

The players have no interest in being developed anymore.
People think Alabama has slipped the past 3 years because of NIL and a loss of talent, but that's not the case. More "talent" than ever. Didn't lose to Vandy because of talent.
What's missing is the development of that talent into elite players. Because they don't give a crap about it. Some school is going to give them a few million dollars anyway, and if you press them they'll just jump in the portal.
Wonder how long boosters will be the fools.

He has potential but the guy was 125 QB rating, which is worst in the conference among starters.
Add in a 54% comp % and 7.4 YPA and yeah if he wants a big check I’d let him get somewhere else.

Screw that. Your workout and performance bonus is having a chance at the NFL and being set for life and not being a used car salesman or trying to swindle parents with “coaching” lessons for the next 30 years.

He was really good for a true freshman but is still extremely raw. Needs a lot of work on pocket awareness and intermediate-level passing.

Apparently that’s the situation. He’s talented, but he’s a true sophomore who has won one game after playing most of this season.
He is asking 1.5 mil for potential. We don’t need to pay big bucks for potential right now. The big bucks are for immediate contributors.
