playoff next season ? I don’t care how much his buyout is, he screwed up badly by keeping #4 in the line up this year. If we miss again next season, he will have very little support from the fan base and probably the PTB who really call the shots.

He won’t be fired, but he will 100% have lost the fan base.

I would fathom yes. Going mid teens twice in a row is going to cause a hot seat

That’s the common denominator here. #4. He’s the most divisive player to ever come through the program. He should have been held accountable last year by Saban.

Some on here will call you weird for blaming him and hating on a millionaire “kid”.

No, there’s zero chance he gets fired next year unless something crazy happens like he robs a bank or embezzles money. Now, if no playoff appearance next year, his coaching seat will be hot in year 3. If no playoff appearance in year 3, if he somehow survives year 3, in year 4, his coaching is molten magma hot.

The days of doing like Virginia Tech did with Frank Beamer and giving him ten years to turn things around are long gone. I like CKD and still think he’s the man for the job but he’s two more years, at most 3 years to right the ship.

Firing after next year unlikely, not impossible. However he could be dead man walking by start of year 3.
Lets see what shakes out over next 6 months.

Right. He better get busy with the portal and get his players in quickly. You can flip a roster overnight nowadays and it needs to be done if he wants to continue to coach at Alabama.

Milroe led Alabama to a 9-0 conference record, a SEC Championship and playoff berth last year.

Milroe isn't the problem, coaching is the problem.

Deboer shite the bed this year. It is literally the easiest time to make the playoffs and he didn't make it. Not having your team ready against two SEC teams just shows he is in over his head.

He better pray Alabama wins the bowl game and gets that tenth win. Having that 10-win season streak end his first year in addition to not making the playoffs and having a losing road record for the first time since 2006 and this season is one of the worst in Alabama history in comparison with potential.

If Alabama does not make the playoffs next year, he needs to be fired before he completely destroys the program.

Not fired in year 2.

He will be under short leash in year 3. And then will be fired if results don't change.

The only difference in this year and last is that we lost all of the games we almost lost last year. Last year was in no way an overall Milroe success and it just handcuffed us because people can't look beyond the stats and box score

Nobody thinks DeBoer doesn't bear some responsibility for this season, what happened in Norman specifically was absolute inexcusable.

But this constant refrain about he doesn't know the South and he doesn't know the SEC and he's from the West Coast so he has cooties and is soft and he doesn't understand Bama values and Bama toughness and he's doomed to failure is getting old.

He's got the job for at least two more years, despite what old-school old-fart fans who wish they could clone a new coach from the Bear's DNA and think they're entitled to this team's success without deviation or exception like it's their birthright are hollering.

This is how programs like Auburn happen.
