If it is down to Alabama, Ole Miss and South Carolina

You simply toss out South Carolina. USC lost to both Bama and Ole Miss, head-to-head has to simply mean something and here it is a double whammy.

Alabama vs. Ole Miss - it goes to Alabama. They played a tougher overall schedule and destroyed LSU, which Ole Miss did not.

I truly think you can talk yourself into any of the 3 and make a pretty reasonable argument depending on what you believe matters the most.

If Florida doesn't botch that game in Knoxville, this is a whole different level of family feud.

Probably

But it should highlight what a poor format the 12 team playoff is.

Yeah. You can go the other way with the common OU game between Bama and OM, but overall Bama had a harder schedule so that is why I would lean that way. H2H and SoS still need to mean something.

You’d have a really good point if Ole Miss hadn’t lost to a dogshit Kentucky team.

Say there are three kids in a room and one adult (the CFP committee). Two kids color on the wall with crayons and the other kid is tattling on them trying to hide the fact that they shite in their pants and smeared it on the wall.

That is South Carolina’s argument.

This is what everyone is doing. They're latching onto the data points that support their narrative.

Ole Miss beat Oklahoma, which destroyed Alabama.

Ole Miss also defeated USC and UGa by much larger margins than Alabama did.

Alabama’s schedule was not appreciably better

Yet it feels like everyone is talking about Bama and South Carolina, while Ole Miss has to shoehorn their way into the convo

Weird. I don't even disagree with you.

Losing to Kentucky at home is the definition of shitting your pants.

This, and they weren’t even competitive against Ole Miss.

Bama also beat #22 Missouri 34-0. 31 more points than SC. Bama destroyed LSU who SC & Ole Miss list to.

See how this works?

Anyone can lose a H to H. You absolutely cannot lose to Kentucky at home and get in.

I think it’s solely due to recency bias and what fanbase circle you’re in. A lot of folks I’ve seen are arguing between Ole Miss and Bama.

I still staunchly believe none of us deserve to go.

Is Vegas in our fanbase circle?

SMU -300
Bama -150
S Car +300
Miami +800
Ole Miss +3500

That loss doesn’t count as much using USCe logic.
