The proof is in the pudding.
No one in this thread can provide an actual response to counter the point that a team who loses by three touchdowns in week 14, to a 6-6 squad, does not belong in the playoffs.
All you can do is “shoot the messenger” and claim that someone is “melting”,
because you can’t handle the truth.

What did people think was going to happen when they expanded it to 12?
This was all predictable. All they did was increase the amount of teams who will claim they deserve the last spot.
And if they try to add more teams, it's just going to be worse.
So yeah, none of these teams "deserve" to make the playoffs. But it's going to happen every year there is a 12 team playoff.

Ironically though, whether it’s 2 (2011) 4 (2017, 2023) or 12….its the same undeserving team that keeps getting in despite not earning it. It just happens to be the team that has the SEC office conveniently located in its state, and that has well-placed mouthpieces at ESPN and with a daily show on the SEC Network, not to mention within the management of those two places.
