South Carolina OR Alabama?

It's such a close debate. Wow. How can we pick between the two?
Well since it's so close, I suppose we have to look at the head-to-head matchup between them, and Alabama won.
Case closed. Whew that was difficult!

Wouldn't even be a discussion point. All Bama had to do was beat a dogshit Oklahoma team. Surely they did that, right?

You guys seem really nervous about this.

Head to head only mattered last year when Bama was justified being behind Texas.
Should Bama be in over Texas was never even up for debate, because Bama lost the head to head. This was fresh off beating a juggernaut Georgia team in Atlanta

Head-to-head should be thrown out the window when you lose to Oklahoma and Vandy (aka Co-Alabama State Champs).

SMU if Clemson wins..
Miami or Alabama if SMU wins..
We will know if Alabama has a chance on Tuesday when the rankings are released.. if they are ahead of Miami.. they need SMU to win.. if they are behind Miami, they are out..

If LSU will do the right thing and give up their fake win over South Carolina so that the Gamecocks are 10-2, Im totally fine if South Carolina is ahead of us.

Game wasn't on a neutral field
South Carolina wins on a neutral field

I think most are nervous about getting in, but realistically everyone knows South Carolina isn’t jumping Bama. South Carolina isn’t even on the books to make the playoff on hard rock in Florida.
Bama is -140
Ole Miss is +2250
Miami is +800

This is actually a valid argument.. and one they might consider.. if SC hadn't also lost to Ole Miss..
I think SC might be the best of those 3.. sadly I don't think we will find out.

Truth is, in year one of the 12 team playoff, USC even being considered is light years away from I thought we would be. The craziest thing in the whole debate is that Ole Miss is being completely left out of the conversation.
I think itt'll come down to this. If the committee believes Sellers being out of the 2nd half of that game against LSU cost USC the win, USC gets the nod. If they don't, I think the spot defaults to Bama on brand.

SC is more deserving regardless of the head to head. Bama will get in though.

They won't get in if SMU loses to Clemson.. or let me rephrase.. they shouldn't if SMU loses to Clemson..

They're in 8 of the 13 CFP predictions on ESPN, and the NCAA's website. We all have our prognosticators we like to pay attention to.
I am not nervous. I think SC has a rock-solid case based on things that the CFP themselves said just last year - injuries, strength down the stretch, better team "now" vs "then." That was used against FSU last year in favor of Alabama. If Bama gets in, it is what it is, and I can understand the justification for it. I do not expect consistency.
I will contend that if the roles were reversed, Bama would absolutely leapfrog SC, and no one would bat an eye. Brands matter.
Whichever of the three of us get in, if one does, just go and wreck shop. I won't be pulling against you. Represent the seed.

Ole Miss.
Ole Miss beat the piss out of South Carolina, and Alabama got their shite pushed in by Oklahoma (who Ole Miss also beat).

The answer should still be neither of the teams. It should be Ole Miss

So head to head suddenly means nothing?

This is a good point, but I think the circumstances are different. We aren't talking about 2, 10-1 conference champions. These are 2, 9-3 teams.
Personally I think Bama should get the spot if it comes down to it due to the H2H. With that being said, SC is the hottest team in CFB right now and Bama just got blown out by a 6-6 OU team.
I think it really depends how much the committee values SC's recent hot streak vs Bama's H2H win and recent embarrassment.
Like I previously said, I think Bama should get in first. If the don't honor the H2H, why even play the game?
