I’ll never taking kicking for granted again

For as much inconsistency as we’ve had on the football field the last few coaches, one thing we’ve always had is good kickers. Not this year. Makes me really appreciate all those solid punters and kickers who wore the Orange and Blue over the years. Chapman sucked and the FG situation was a disaster this year. I hope we can sure up our special teams in the portal this time.

It's a symptom of a larger problem. Freeze has been downright negligent. Very sloppy on multiple issues for two years. All phases of the game suffer when a coach does that.

I think most expected McPherson to be healthy by season

Special teams overall have been terrible. I get that our best kicker has health issues but that is something that has to be addressed. It just fell apart this year and its something we have not had to deal with for 15 years or so.

Oh BS. You're just fabricating things to hate Freeze for. No one thought McPherson would be lost for the year during recruiting, AND we had an all-world HS kicker in McGough on the roster in case he was. Chapman was just fine this year until all of a sudden he wasn't. Injury, girl problems, drinking, or just the yips, who knows?

Well, I can name at least one person whose job it is to know.
He's the same guy who let all kinds of hostility fester on his defensive coaching staff last year, the same guy who spent all his time on the road last year rather than working to improve glaring issues with is offense, which was supposed to be his specialty, the same guy whose job it was this year to make sure the QB's developed and the OL developed. The same guy who didn't know why the best running back in the SEC didn't get any carries in the second half in a critical loss one week after that RB set a record against a team of at least equal talent, and the same guy who let's his WR's take plays off if they aren't the designated playmaker.
But hey, if you've seem some positive, let's hear it.
I can't help but think the next Jarquez Hunter is watching how we used him these last two years and his making his choices about the future accordingly.

Does this mean the fad of Australian kickers is over?
There is no technique in Australian kicking ......that's rugby or Australian Rules Football. Who in America specializes in that?

Most of the Aussie guys are punters. And no, that's not over. It's been happening for a very long time and they're just better at punting from growing up play Aussie rules football.

I'd like to see the stats on that.
Traditional punting IMO is a lot sound overall. overall.
Australian and European soccer positions do not punt all the time.
It's obvious once the steps and form is disrupted ....Australian punters suck.

That's what I'm afraid of as well. Seeing him out there dressed for the few games that we did, it was very said to see how emaciated he is

Chaz Ramsey says hello.
The media said McPherson got down to 85 lbs because of his illness. I think it was ridiculous bordering on negligent to think he was going to return from that this year.
