Coach Gundy on negative fans
“In most cases, the people who are negative and voicing their opinions are the same ones that can’t pay their own bills. They’re not taking care of themselves, they’re not taking care of their own family.”

Sounds like Mike finally is at a “take it or leave it” juncture at OSU.
That statement doesn’t help whatever cause he’s promulgating. Might be true but this doesn’t help him.
I don’t believe he is ready to pick up another program either. He’s had opportunities but he never took them.

Disappointing statement.
Considering this is the same dude who had the classic “I’m a man!” Melt, this one had no “rural central Oklahoma basement” type of memorable zingers

Dude has dedicated his life to making Okla St a successful program and he’s achieved that. If fans are giving him shite for one bad season I give him a pass for calling out that BS.

5- and 6- win seasons in the Big 12 aren't great, though.
He is what he is: a guy who can pull three 10+ win seasons a decade and never get over that hump.
He's a good coach, clearly, but that record would get you bumped at most top programs, even if you were an alum. Maybe OSU is fine with never being a top program but you can't fault fans for wanting it.

OK State is NEVER going to be that program, and their fans' whining isn't going to change that.

Don't engage with the fans is a rule written in stone. There is nothing good about it be it true or not

Kind of a bullshite statement. People are allowed to be negative if they spend thousands of dollars on your program taking said family to the games so they can share the experience together. That’s a very boomer statement to make.
Gundy has also put his name out there for other jobs at least half a dozen times.

I went through the trouble of posting his season records yet you still just choose to pull shite out of your arse. Over the last 10 seasons, he’s had five 10+ win seasons.
From 2008 through 2017, he had six 10+ win seasons, and two of those years were 9 win seasons.

Oklahoma state wouldn’t be a .500 win percentage program without him. They aren’t a historic powerhouse and never have been. He has like a 680 win percentage and has like 5 10+ win seasons in the last 10 years.
He took them from an average program to a very good consistent solid program and has been doing it for 2 decades.
