Things I feel pretty confident about happening

this offseason,
I think it is really likely that Derrick Nix accepts the Southern Miss HC job.
I think we hire a real oc, Brennan Marion at UNLV would likely be first choice from what I've heard, but he is a hot commodity.
Special teams coach will likely be replaced. 95% sure on that one.
I could see a few more offensive staff changes, I'm not sure that anyone is safe on that side of the ball.
I also think Kent Austin goes back to an off field role.
This is just some of the scuttlebutt I have heard recently.

That’s who I wanted when Freeze first took over.

SM has had major cash flow issues. I can't see him leaving unless it is suggested.

Freeze is and will always be a buffoon no matter who the OC and / or Special Teams coach may be.

Three different OCs in a row is a tough task. We didnt sign up for that when we hired Freeze. He was supposed to be the stabilizing force on offense.

Kent just needs to be replaced all together. The QB development isn’t happening.

I guess, but you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. We have a roster of G5 talent at QB. Thorne got benched at a middling B1G school only to come here and start for 2 years with the job security of being by far the best QB on this roster. That is a frighteningly poor talent pool.

I agree on the Thorne part, and I don’t hold him against Kent. PT is a head case that is uncoachable, but there should be someone prepped to bench one of the worst QBs in the country.

What exactly happened to Southern Miss football? I am old enough to remember two consecutive victories over AU and a thrashing of Bama in Bear's final season.

He has performed as well as the top half of the passers in the SEC. You're just a thug with a shite opinion.

you think they have as much as us? oil money? genuinely asking. not sure how i feel about it, just seems like a very "auburn" thing for us to go after him.

IMO South Alabama starting their program up combined with Tulane's recent success has had an impact on Southern Miss. For years USM recruited heavily in the New Orleans metro area and south Alabama for players.

No, he has not. I understand your statistics based argument using QBR, but if you watched the games he is one of the three worst QBs in the SEC.
