Milroe had, by far, his most pass attempts of his career against Tennessee. Why?

Milroe had 45 pass attempts in Knoxville yesterday. His previous career high for attempts was 33. So it’s the most by far. Why? The game was close. It’s just poor coaching to throw it around like we were down 14 the whole game. 27 attempts in the first half?

Just a terrible game that has extinguished any hope for the rest of the season. I hate this.

I think Sheridan assumed he would hit 50% of his wide open attempts.

Or tuck the ball and run for 10+ yards which he had the opportunity to do multiple times.

Poor coaching imo. Pretty good backs and didn’t establish the run. Seems like an easy thing to lean on when the QB is off

Or maybe they saw all the opportunities and figured might actually hit one.

Yea no kidding. What have you seen from this team this year that makes you think they are capable of establishing any sort of run?

Because if you look at UTs game film, you would see that their DL and front 7 are very good, but their secondary sucks arse. Arkansas’s QB lit them up. Florida’s TE worked them over.

I mean, if our QB could hit open WRs/TEs and not throw stupid INTs would we be complaining?

Out of all of our problems, I am not at all worried about our offense once CKD gets his type of players into his system. This offensive system is elite and very difficult to defend if you have 1) good WRs 2) quick, nimble OL 3) a serviceable/ above avg RB and 4) a good QB who is very accurate. Right now we have 2 out of those 4, and yet we have seen what this offense does when it’s clicking.

And Tennessee's front 7 is really good.

True. The run blocking has been at best inconsistent and often terrible. The RBs are often hit in the backfield or stuffed at the LOS.

That said, I still contend Justice Haynes is either hurt or is afraid of getting hurt because he isn’t near the back he was last year when he ran like he was angry. If he IS hurt, I don’t understand not giving Richard Young some snaps because Young runs with authority and is very physical RB. If Young is also hurt, give Daniel Hill some carries, he’s a very big dude at 235 lbs.

It’s unfair to say (maybe) but Saban adjusted according to his personnel. There was an Alabama way, not necessarily a “system.”

This. TEs and RB were open in passing situations.

We couldn’t run, and it’s not like guys were not open on the pass plays. Milroe just missed them. Missed them by miles

My opinion..Milroe is hurt and can’t run, so that eliminates our QB runs…and Sheridan doesn’t trust our backs enough to consistently get yardage in the run game.

So we just try to get the ball in Ryan or Germies hands

Assuming that’s true that Milroe is hurt, the opponent has figured it out. UT spied him some but when they realized he wasn’t going to take off even with an open field in front of him, they quit wasting a player as a spy.
And Milroe without the threat of his legs, is a below average QB when he’s on. When he won’t run and can’t hit the broad side of a barn either, he couldn’t start for Alabama A&M. Only 2 things made Milroe a high level D1 quarterback: his running ability and his beautiful deep ball. Both of those have disappeared, so he is no longer that QB. So why is he still on the field?

People keep saying this. It's now a rule in college football that you have to disclose all injuries, just like the NFL. It even has legal ramifications due to gambling. If he was hurt in any significant way, it would need to be listed.

Because they stacked the box, took away the outside run, and dared him to throw on a day he couldn’t

Milroe is not 100%. His running has been off for almost two games now. I wonder if his piss poor throwing yesterday was due to something too. He had several throws that were insanely inaccurate, like his worst throws ever were all yesterday.
