If you think watching the 55th ranked defense is painful, you should check out the 76th ranked one.

Which is, amazingly, somehow a giant improvement from the past few years.

Are we though?

Tennessee has a good rushing attack, but their pass offense is kind of shitty.

Nico is averaging just over 200 yards a game through the air and most of that came against UT Chattanooga.

The tennessee game will show us if Bama has the ability to stop a 1 dimensional rushing offense. Not if they can stop an offense that is good overall.

And before you say it, UGA isn't good overall either. We're the opposite though. Very good at throwing the ball. Very suspect at running it.

Breaking news - we can't.

The good thing is you’re going against Nico Iamarunningoutofbounds so the Bama defense should look much improved this week.

Just my point in another post, the offense is pretty good, save Deboer would rather have a more consistent QB via his arm. But he may have to fire his first DC like Saba had to fire his first OC in his first year. This guy did great against UGA and put a lot of pressure on them in the first half, the he set back the 2n d half. Vs, Vandy, hardly no pressures all day, with a 3 man rush and 5-6 DBs most of the time. Likewise vs. South Carolina, although the played OK, late they were again bleeding out, but once they got the ONSIDE KICK and 3 points would have beaten us, 3-4 plays in a row he put for max pressure and we went and got the QB.

He has to mix it up, not play off with 6 DBS and no rush, this is not the Soft Boys League, we have athletes, TURN THEM LOSE !!

We'll see. Bama is giving up 3.33 yards per rush attempt this year. That's 30th in the nation. 6th in the SEC. Not great but not horrendous either. While Bama has shown some defensive weakness, a run centered team is a better matchup for them compared to a pass focused team I think.

That being said, if Bama turns the ball over it won't matter. The thing people miss about the Vandy game is Bama lost the turnover battle 2-0 and both of those turnovers led to Vandy TD's. Bama held Vandy to 3.1 yards per rush attempt... but gave up 12 yards per pass attempt.

Realistically if the turnover battle was even, Bama would have beaten Vandy.

Of course on the flip side... if the turnover battle was even then Bama would have lost to UGA and SC.

In SEC play, Alabama's defense is just bad as LSU's.

And LSU lost two starters and has 6-8 3 stars starting or getting a lot of playing time.
