And fans carrying the goalposts down the street.
Im sure the SEC brass is butthurt that #1 Bama got their tails kicked by Vandy. Gotta send a message this can't be tolerated.

Isn’t the first offense $10K ?

The first offense costs $100,000.
And I’m guessing the Vandy folks will sign that check with a smile.

The “stormed” the field last year after beating Florida and that was $25,000?
ETA: $250,000
ETA: $250,000

First fine is 100k.
They bumped it up I think around 4-5 years ago.
Next is 250k and then a not so small 500k.

SEC should waive the fine.
Vandy deserved and earned that moment. Hopefully it will recharge interest in their program.

Whatever it is, the SEC should donate it to the hurricane relief efforts.

I think it's ridiculous to fine any school for storming the field (or the court). Let the fans enjoy celebrating. Someone might get injured, they say? Well, someone might get drunk in the stands, win or lose.

Given the potential liability for the home team should a fan suffer an injury I think a fine of $100k is on the low side.
Didn''t a girl suffer peranent brain damage after a hit to the head from a falling goal post?
And then there are unfortunate interactions between fans of the winning team and players on the losing team that can result in someone sustaining an injury.

They changed it some last year and everyone went back to zero strikes. As someone else already posted it is now $100k the first strike, $250k the second strike, and $500k each subsequent strike. The big difference is the fine goes to the other school instead of the SEC and can be used for anything. So instead of sending a check for $100k to the SEC office, Vandy will be sending a check to Tuscaloosa and Arkansas will be sending a check to Knoxville.
Who will be the first team to get to $500k? Will the SEC continue to raise the fines?

Vandy got $100k
Arky got $250k (they stormed the court in 2023 after a basketball win)

It’s worth every penny and think even Bama fans would agree.
They lost to Vandy but I think some of them are also happy for Vandy.
It made me feel good to see Arkansas storm the field after beating us.
Because honestly I didn’t know they respected us this much because we have been very low on the SEC radar for many years.
I was happy for them.
No shame in good ball games.

We may be talking about different events, but I found a couple of examples.
She almost died.
Woman Almost Dies After Storming Field
This guy did.
Student Killed After Storming Field
Deaths are rare, but there are almost always a few injuries among the fans.

I completely agree with you. It is outrageous that they are fining these schools. When you win a big game like that, it is a huge deal for those programs. If it happens occasionally, it should be understood and forgiven. If it happens twice in a year, then perhaps a very deserving charity should be named as the recipient. Giving it to the opposing school is pathetic. Don’t think this course of action wasn’t determined to aid the more prestigious members of the SEC. No one is storming the field for beating Vandy or Arkie, yet they are fined for beating Tennessee and Alabama, both programs loaded with money and talent. Who are the folks making these type of edicts. What loser comes up with these schemes? How many incidents has this prevented? I understand they are trying to prevent an injury, but is it actually effective?
