It should start in the right place.

While I appreciate what you are trying to say AND certainly appreciate Coach's answer - people like you (based on your attitude conveyed in your post) is one of the things that's wrong with our fan base.
1) The idea of "owning fans whining about the clock," isn't in DeBoer's answer AT ALL. He was a gentleman who welcomed the critical question. Just like YOU should be.
2) To act like our coaches cannot be questioned is the height of sunshine-pumping fandom and is irrational

The rare exchange of reasonable question and reasonable answer.

He did own him…..he was nice about but make no mistake….he owned him.

This reads like some kind of Ben Shapiro fanboy posting about him owning a liberal college student. It's a very stupid way to frame the question and answer.

I think CKD is telling us (without telling us) that they like being in communication with the QB. All those snaps were taken when the headset is still on. It cuts out at 15 seconds on the play clock.
We have talked about some of the pros and cons of doing this. Will be interesting to watch going forward how defenses try to counter that. CKD seems like a chess player.

Totally, but we don't have a dipshit head coach.
We have a head coach who's won 90% of the 120 games he's coached.
Meanwhile you have fans who've never played nor coached a down of football in their lives bitching about clock management after we WON a game.
I understood it as it was happening in-game. Never questioned it.
Like he said, if we were up by 2 scores, then yeah, run clock.
Clearly you can see a lot of the butthurt fans here in the replies. They were just like the caller. Stop questioning the GOAT DeBoer. He's brilliant.

Absolutely. I loved his answer in this video. It goes to show the layers and depth of thought that went into the decision to NOT run the clock down to 1 for every play.
Whereas I think a lot of fans assumed he was just being careless.

I think you need to spruce up the title

DeBoer is an outstanding coach, and from what I've seen we couldn't have found a better successor to Saban than we did. I'm beyond impressed.
However.
If you're managing a game in a way that benefits your opponent, you're not putting yourself in the best position to win. If you enter the fourth quarter winning a game by 18 and you're on the opponent's side of the field, you bleed the clock. If you're still ahead by 12 with less than 10 minutes left, you bleed the clock. If you're still ahead by five with less than six minutes left, you bleed the clock. Not doing so is giving your opponent entirely too many chances to come back.
You can still run the plays you want to run -- just don't snap the ball with 20 seconds remaining on the play clock.
We had two possessions in the latter half of the fourth quarter that earned at least one first down -- 11 plays total between the two. We burned about five minutes off the clock with those possessions because we were snapping the ball well before the play clock ran down. If we'd milked the clock just on those two possessions, we would've had the ball for more than eight minutes of game time, which means Georgia never would have had the time to take the lead or mount their final drive that ended in an interception in the end zone.

Our society is shite. It's all about "owning" / "destroying" / "embarrassing" people rather than two people having a respectful conversation on a topic that that they don't completely see eye to eye on.
Some how the majority of people's emotional growth seems to have stunted around the mental age of 12 year's old.

I didn't get any football knowledge but CKD both proved God exist and/or destroyed religion with that clip. It has shaken my whole worldview.

I'm glad to know he had a reason for not working the clock as opposed to being unaware or uncoached. Doesn't mean I agree with him nor do I have to. We got lucky with the pick at the end and it's still a win. Give credit to Georgia for their adjustments and not folding up shop.

Personally, I think we over-anylize running the clock. Half the time, a team bleeds the clock, then the other team scores and the first team finds themselves wishing they had more time.
There are certainly times when you want to run the clock, but it's not always as simple as it appears, nor does it always work out how you want.

I believe they could have run more clock earlier in the quarter. The reason I think they didn't is the communitcation with Jalen and did not want Kirby/DC to change the defense after 15 seconds. Let's not make Jalen have to worry about changing the play with seconds left on the clock, let's let him ball out.

Yes, I think that probably played a big part in this instance.

Which is basically what he's saying here. Unless you can end the possession in victory formation it really doesn't make much of a difference. I can see it both ways. It's certainly an issue where reasonable minds can differ.

This was my thought, especially with a defense as talented and technically sound as UGA. Waiting to adjust inside of 15 seconds to confuse a QB who has become accustomed to the coaches calling out coverages and adjustments over a headset is an advantage for the defense. The early snaps are another way to mitigate a potential defensive advantage.
That said, what he laid out made perfect sense. They weren't in bleed the clock mode. It's a rhythm offense when it's clicking. Milroe plays better when they are playing faster. If anything, I think they could have upped the tempo as they were in scoring mode.
