Is this favoritism? Bama 10 for 90 yards, UGA 6 for 50 yards

We hear all day about how referees favor Alabama. Right now we have one specific fanbase crying about it like they played us last night and not South Alabama.

Yet somehow what gets lost in all this are the actual stats.

How are we favored by refs when we're most penalized year-in year-out?

How does everyone get home-cooking and we are accused of getting the most when teams routinely get penalized less in our home stadium and we get penalized more?

The amount of blatant non-calls to help UGA and the carry job calls on 3rd and 4th down to extend their drives was abnormal. It was like the front office called at halftime and told them "make the game interesting".

I don't know about favoritism from officials

But I do know there were 2 instances that need to be looked at by the SEC offices

Booker's "unnecessary roughness" on a "player not involved in the play" and

The obvious DPI at the end of the first half

Tons of WTF moments in that game but those 2 stand out

They're not the shittiest fans, but they are far and away the most pathetic.

That’s LsU fans. They are ate up with Alabama and have been for decades. This is not a new phenomenon brought on by the last 17yrs. I’m 50 and have dealt with it since I was a boy.

The only WTF calls to me were the

- Booker Unnecessary Roughness
- Germie DPI non-call
- Bama called for Offside when UGA WR was a yard downfield.

The non-call on Sabb on one of uga's TD drives was egregious as well. Dude horse-collar'd him away from a possible INT on the sideline.
No OPI.

Georgia has blamed the officials in every single loss to Bama they've had under Smart. At some point you would think at least some logical fans would step forward and say they have to face facts.

Haters think favoritism is whenever the refs aren't going in dry on the tide.

Yeah that one was egregious.

So many of these things they let go kept the game in reach

Booker Unnecessary Roughness

Look at this play, not called and the guy had a shot of making the tackle. 2:07 mark

I thought they were just bad all around

If the refs wanted to frick us, they could have been ticky tacky on all the jump balls UGA threw (remember 2022 Texas)

SEC refs are too incompetent to rig games.

I know in 2018 they were pissed we got away with a false start but literally on their first touchdown play of that game, their right tackle jumped before the ball was snapped.

That's why I can't take the ref bias whining seriously. People cherry pick and then turn a blind eye to the calls they get away with.

LSU fans cry that we get away with holding yet our opponents are always ranked near the bottom in penalties called when playing us. We had arguably the best defensive front in cfb a few years back and not a single holding flag was ever thrown on an opposing offense..

There was an LSU poster claiming they have never won a game due to the refs when they straight up beat us in 2022 due to a missed block in the back on their go ahead touchdown right in front of the head official. Yet it seems like we draw one or two block in the back flags a game.

I will say this, having worked as a HS football ref in Texas, the casual fan cannot possibly imagine how fast stuff moves and what all those refs are expected to be able to catch 100 per cent of the time. I can only imagine how fast things move at the Division I college level.

This is not an excuse for bad calls or lack of calls, just stating reality. Honestly, my solution would be to have more refs on the field. Maybe even double them. Of course, that costs money and I'm certain the NCAA doesn't want to do that even though they can afford it.

I don't think Herbstreit helped by beginning to point out possible infractions when we were blowing Ga out.

Don’t think for one minute that betting lines don’t factor in. Just saying. Lots of money being bet on big games like this.
