ACC propping up their lone hope for a playoff spot

Miami is a fraud and should still fall out of the top 10

Missouri > Vanderbilt > Virginia Tech > Miami

Honestly, that was a tough call. I wasn't sure either way...but not sure how they overturned the ruling on the field. Officiating keeps getting worse in college football.

Total BS. Dude had control when he hit the endzone. Thats a TD brotha. ACC called that one in.

I’m not sure where they came up with the “incomplete pass.” Guy catches it, has control, hits the ground, then it gets moved by the Miami player (I think).

Just… terrible call.

You nailed it. The ACC replay officials in Charlotte were not about to let their only playoff possibility go down the drain. It was clearly a touchdown. The receiver secured the ball as he hit the ground. As the commentator said, the Miami player was on the on the boundary when he jerked the ball from the receiver who had control several seconds before. This call is a total disgrace.

Gotta maintain possession when you hit the ground right?

And a player who is out of bounds touching the ball also makes the ball out of bounds as well right?

So if he hits the ground and the ball wiggles a little while a player who is out of bounds is touching it, then it's an incomplete pass.

I think it did hit the ground after it was ripped out AFTER it was a catch for a TD. If not, it was dead with 2 other players touching it while out of bounds.

for a review that took as long as it did, it was obvious that there wasn't indisputable evidence.

But the miami player touched the uncontrolled ball while he was out of bounds. Easy dead ball call.

That's how I understand it. Based on the rules it was incomplete. Seemed pretty clear upon replay angles.

Pfft. I have Miami on my parlay. VTech almost ruined it.

Plus, any UT fans from upper East Tennessee absolutely hate VTech. Miami, being our historical bitches, not so much.

That said, VTech got robbed

Correct.

They go into super slow mo and see some wiggling and it coming loose.

No damn way they had enough to overturn touchdown.

I fell asleep last night and so missed all of the drama. Watching the play dispassionately this morning, I don't see how that can be ruled anything but an incompletion. The ball was clearly bobbling through the air and firm control was never established. I realize the call on the field was a touchdown, but that looked like an incompletion to me.

I didn't see the play. But I think the actual rule is you must be in possession when you hit the ground if that's the next thing that happens. If crossing the endzone with the ball you have to have made a "football play" as in take a step in possession. Anything after crossing the endzone in possession is irrelevant.
