As an Lsu fan I forgot how fun it was to have that caliber of defense. Lsu isn’t even close to that. Tennessee will be a tough out in the playoffs.

Their d line was nasty. I didn't know they had that streak going of not allowing an offensive TD. Glad we could finally break that one though.

I haven’t seen any of your games prior to last night so I’m not sure what kind of QB Arnold is, but your freshman QB has speed like Jayden Daniels. He will be a difference maker for OU once he gets more experience.

He's a turnover machine.

The Sooner d-line was nasty as well. The secondary was good in coverage. If y’all continue to improve on offense you can have a good run at the schedule this year.

Oklahoma is no joke. They have their QB now. They will beat Texas.

Agree.
Lot of respect for your defense last night. How this year seems to be playing out right now, y'all have a brutal schedule moving forward.

Their whole defense is elite, or knocking on the door of being elite.
They good.

Both teams have elite defense that will keep them close in every game. The SEC is loaded this season and I’m glad that Mizzou doesn’t have to play TN this season. Their D looks night and day different from 2023.

Our defense is top notch from front to back up and down the roster. They put us in position to take control of that game and win it.
Our offense is putrid and unworthy of the uniform, as they have been all season. Time for drastic changes.

Prepare for frustration when you have such a lopsided team. We had that type of team in 2015 with a top 10 defense and absolutely terrible offense. Our season points for/against was 13.6-16.2.
Not saying it will be that bad for the Sooners yet but damn was that the most frustrating season I can remember.

I hated the play call after your defense got the turnover and Arnold trying to run right at the Tennessee defense. Horrible call but he absolutely has to secure the damn ball. He wasn’t going anywhere on that play to begin with. That was a huge turnover. They all were huge turnovers. It’s a crime to have your defense play that well and get no help from the offense. At Lsu we have had the complete opposite problem. Our offense put up video game numbers last year , but our defense was garbage just as they are this year.

It’s a shame because if OU scores there it’s a much different game. Both that play and the backwards pass were supposed to go to the RB but Arnold lost his mind and made two game changing mistakes. Arnold also made the OL look worse than it was. Hawkins got the offense moving and littrell started calling a totally different game. OU can still win ball games if the staff handles the QB position correctly. The defense has immense depth and talent to keep OU in games.

That was an RPO and a perfect example of Arnold's terrible decision making. If he gives the ball to Barnes, he walks into the EZ, but Arnold can't make good RPO decisions. He gets it wrong, every single time.

It doesn't matter what they have or don't have. They could field 5 Jackson Arnolds and those MFers would play the game of their lives against us.
There are few gimme wins in the Texas-OU game.

I was really disappointed with how our offense played. Arnold was pathetic. Guys still don m’t seem to know their assignments. So many unforced errors on first down.
I don’t say any of that to take away from UT’s defense. They are good.
All of that said, I am more optimistic now than I was 24 hours ago. We thought our defense was good but in years past they have looked pretty good against early season competition then faltered. They will keep us on a lot of games.
Finally Arnold is not good now but I think it is far too early to write him off. He has all the physical tools and from everything I have heard a good head on his shoulders. The game is just too fast for him right now. The question is, if he turns out good, where will he be playing at?

My sentiments too. Lebby will take him out of portal once he goes in next window. JA needs a reset, you can’t undo last night and the fans will never want to see him start a game. In his 2 biggest games he has 7 turnovers. He will need mental rehab and Lebby likely thinks he can be the one to do it since he recruited him. I also can’t discount how badly Seth has managed him via playcalls. But most of JA’s problems were self induced.

Let’s put it this way, Houston and Tulane effectively shut him down. Last year a godawful BYU team shut him down. Running off Dillon Gabriel to make this bum the future was probably a bigger mistake than promoting Seth Latrine to OC.

Tenn and OU defense are elite defenses . I prefer OUs but that’s not taking anything away from Tenn. if we just had any offense we would have been right there in the game . I was proud of our defense they didn’t give up like everyone said they would . We knew our offense was bad but hoped we could get our injured guys back and as soon as all of them started limping off the field it was over. Ten. Defense played outstanding , they have a lot of athletes !
