About the first big test?
Nothing bothers me after the Ohio State game. Drink has built a program that knows how to win and expects to win.

Feeling fine.
I think we haven’t scratched the surface of what the offense can do.
I think BC’s FSU win was overvalued.
We’re at home.
Should be a dub.

Happy with a win but the offense is a slog right now outside of the run game.
Noel is a beast. Some Marcus Murphy / Henry Josey to him.
Carroll is simply… okay as a battering Ram. Not been particularly dangerous with the rock. Lacey may need more play so we don’t burn Noel out.
Cooks deep ball is atrocious so far this year. Don’t know if it can be fixed at this point or if he just needs to underthrow everything now and let WRs adjust back because he keeps overthrowing by ten yards.

Other than a couple plays, Cooks throws to non stationary objects has been atrocious (high, wide) .
Also the playcalling is suffering (multiple single read rolls where he has one target ... cause Cook's gone back to happy feet and non progression in his reads).
Happy to be 3-0 but did not expect the offense to have to lean on the defense this much because of play calling and stalled drives.

Lack of discipline and preparedness will be the end of them. I expect them to fall out of the top 10 this week.

It’s fine. I see this as the MTSU/Memphis game last year. Inferior athletes overachieving against our offense still figuring things out. We are going to be fine.

Ball placement and timing are not there at all. I expected him deliver balls on time and on target. He doesn't have an NFL arm but his throws to Cooper outside the numbers end up with an off balance catch attempt on most throws. If he would hit Cooper in stride, not many guys are going to tackle him one on one.
I don't think Norfleet was right either. He lacked physicality after the catch and blocking too.
The good news is Jordon Harris blocks at an SEC level.

Nuke, what's your thoughts on Moore's pkaycalling?
IMHO, he keeps playing to Cooks weaknesses, still hasn't been able to make Burden effective on a consistent basis as a receiver. Burden does alot with the ball after the catch.

Moore is making the calls based on what the defense is giving. It's all about execution. Cook's command isn't where I thought it would be. I thought he would be delivering the ball earlier and throwing his guys open.
He is waiting too long on those deep throws IMO. Delivered sooner with a little more air and the guys are running under the ball in stride.

Nuke, spot on.
There's no touch on his ball and unless the target is a stop route, he's late/ inaccurate.
Watching Nico at TN and would love Drink to find a kid like that ...

Unfortunately that kid may have broke his leg last night

Lock had this problem on deep throws for much of his time at Mizzou

Zollers? Yeah, heard that ... I was talking about university of Tennessee, Nico is crazy good (timing, touch, accuracy) ... granted competition?
Know he's shorter (like Stetson) but Pyne throws a better ball and I'm definitely not saying Pyne should start (lose the dual threat/ running ability)...
But would love to see him get some series cause the explosive plays are there ...

Evidently it's clunker week in the SEC. I feel pretty good actually. We played a clunker game and yet were pretty much in control against a decent opponent.

That was a solid win against a good team. It's good to put them thru a stressful situation. Except for LBIII they showed a lot of composure.
I think Burden showed his arse and ended any Heisman hope he had. Money has gone to his head already.

Vanilla offense and vanilla defense led to a fairly easy W. BC never had the ball with a chance to tie or lead in the 2nd half.

I've done some thinking on the subject of this team. I know, I know, you've all been waiting for this right?
This is a damn good team, in all phases. Drink only has 1 more hurdle to clear, but he isn't the only coach with this challenge. Everyone except Tennessee is playing down to inferior competition. Including GA and Bama. But when they play a team requiring full focus, they are all in.

Deep ball was never his problem. Every other distance was.

Not many threw the hole shot like Lock.
I may be looking a little hard at 4 or 5 throws. He made several great reads and throws based on coverage and BC came after him. PFF's post game analysis makes several good points about how Cook handled getting blitzed on 50% of the drop backs. I felt like he did those things well last year. It's the throws outside the #s that have to be delivered before the WR is out of his break/is even with the defender and is away from contact.
