Mizzou has been an SEC member since 2012. Some might even say they are old money in this conference. Regardless, they've compiled a whopping 47 conference victories in this esteemed league since they joined. With just 8 opportunities per year, they've managed to win at almost a .500 clip in the world's toughest college football conference.
Oklahoma is barely an SEC member. Joining the SEC as Texas' additional baggage in 2024, they've compiled 0 conference victories in this esteemed league. They'll have 8 chances this year, to get their very first, but they are starting from ground zero.
Missouri is on a meteoric trajectory. Led by the Coaching Wizard known as Eli Drinkwitz, Mizzou is coming off of an 11-2 NY6 bowl winning campaign, and recruiting has never been better in Columbia. In fact, Missouri has repeatedly outbid Oklahoma for recruits due to Oklahoma's either ineffective or simply inferior recruiting budget.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma is on the downside of recovering from Bob Stoops' retirement. Their current coach, Brett Vegetables, has struggled to maintain the same momentum as the Sooners have long enjoyed throughout their proud history. They now join a legitimate conference, and have already been dominated on the recruiting trail by the red headed step child of said conference for the last few years. This does not bode well for their transition from AAA to the Major Leagues.
With that brief context in mind, will Oklahoma ever be able to catch the Mighty Missouri Tigers in success in SEC play?

247 recruiting rankings
2024 - OU #8, MU #20
2023 - OU #5, MU #34
2022 - OU #8, MU #15
2021 - OU #10, MU #26
2020 - OU #12, MU #51
I think OU recruiting is just fine compared to Missouri's.
Looks like you aren't doing enough outbidding...

OU will be lucky to ever win a game in this conference. That being said OU has stuffed Mizzou in a locker recruiting wise for all of history. Fasusi is just the latest of many OU has and will continue to get.

Will OU ever catch Missouri in the SEC? Good question. Let's look at the past to have a view into the future. OU vs UM historically is:
67–24–5
We might be able to hold our own. Cannot say for sure though.

Brilliant analysis. I would only add that since coach Vegatables has been at oU, they are 16-10…in the big xii.
Mizzou is 17-9 and played in the SEC.

This Mizzou - OU festering wound is fun to watch.
I’ve got a feeling it won’t turn out too well for the tigers though.
