I have not kept up with sports lately, so I wondered what the Rant's opinion on Notre Dame was. I see the Irish are ranked 7th. Is this based on reputation?

They are not expecting their oline to be good and their QB is a transfer that is probably a step back from Hartman. Defense should be stout but I don’t see them scoring many points.

They're basically the independent version of Penn State

What reputation?

ND hasn't been a great program since Lou Holtz departed.

They have a reputation for playing a weak schedule.

They have a reputation of being overrated in the recruiting rankings because of their massive Jesuit fan following and the need for premium subscription modeled online recruiting services run by Shannon Terry to bend a knee to their fanbase.

They have a reputation for playing half an A Shee Shee schedule in their attempt to stay relevant .... which makes one have to laugh at the ACC for agreeing to half a schedule.

They have a reputation for being overrated and under achieving based on pre-season bowls.

You wanna know what real privilege is? It's Irish Privilege. ND has an almost guaranteed spot in the playoffs every year .... because they're Notre Dame. Not because they'll be one of the 12 best teams every year .... but rather because of their TV following.

That's ND's reputation.

Ags should beat them.

They are way overhyped.

I hope you're right. It would be a great start for Elko.

In recent history, they are habitually over-rated. But, early season games are a crap-shoot. The team making the fewest critical mistakes almost always wins a fairly evenly matched early season game.

Notre Dame lost all credibility when they got destroyed by Bama. No wonder BK wanted to get out.

BK was most of the problem.

Their Oline will be very young. Our DL are all seniors/juniors now. Their QB’s first game. I’m assuming Mike Denbrock will want to use him like Daniels, but Daniels had a great OL and great WRs.

I don’t know what to make of the media narratives tho. They have written that Notre Dame might have the best DL in college football. Felt like a slap to our defense considering we led the conference in sacks and TFL last year.

I think if our DL can stop the run, and generate pressure with much help from the secondary or needing extra LBers, we have a good shot.

It won’t be Riley Leonard’s first game.

For ND in a new offense yes. I’m well aware he played at Duke for Elko. I wish I would have seen his games.

The loss of the starting left tackle for ND will be big in this game. Ags’ d-line should feast.

LOL

Riley Leonard is going to make the Aggie yell leaders hit the fetal position.

The problem is ND hasn't won a title in almost 40 years and simply didn't have good enough coaching or players to get them over the hump.

Them ND boys gonna melt down. Kyle Field surface is in a 10 ft deep pit. Not one inkling of a breeze down there.

Really surprised ND agreed to come down and get their azz fried.
