Fall camp scuttlebutt on your QB room?

A&M - Weigman is the unquestioned starter. Lots of competition between Marcel Reed and Jaylen Henderson for the number 2 spot. Freshmen Myles O’Neil has an incredible arm but for sure will be redshirting. We feel good about our depth, but there is nobody proven at the position.

The race for QB2 between Moore, Shular, and Merklinger looks like it is set for now. Moore followed Heupel from UCF and is secure in the QB2 role for now. Moore will likely be a GA next year and looks to want to get into coaching. The SC native was the QB1 in the last scrimmage as Nico had a stomach bug and preformed capably. Merklinger is likely going to redshirt this year and be the QB2 next year with eyes on competing for the starting role in 2026 with MacIntyre and Brenden.
It should be fairly orderly and straightforward until 2026.

Carson Beck is Heisman ready.
Gunnar Stockton is ready to take the reins in case of an injury and should get 15 snaps or so in our games since most will be blowouts. He'll be the starter next year. Ryan Puglisi will see a lotta time too...

I expect a huge jump from Weigman this season. He just needed to be rid of Jimbo.

I mean maybe Arkansas and Vandy but thats about it. All the big schools have starters pretty much locked down.

Is it Green? Or is he the backup?I saw this about another QB L Riley recruited and he was the #1 recruit in country. And Malachi transferred to BSU and can’t beat out their other QB. But I noticed the comment about Green transferring to Arky. And another twist Malachi was committed to OU until Riley left, we dodged a bullet.
Happy to say we have a strong QB now.

For the first time in a long time, I wouldn't think our season automatically goes down the drain even if we have to play the 3rd string QB. I honestly can't remember the last time we had a true 3 deep at QB.
