From past or present. There have been some good ones over the years IMHO. I think most of us who grew up in the 90s and 00s are very fond of Ron Franklin/Mike Gottfried duo from ESPN as well as the "Three Daves" from Jefferson Pilot. Older fans might long for the days of Keith Jackson/Frank Broyles, Keith Jackson/Ara Parseghian, or even Chris Schenkel/Bud Wilkinson.

Sumrall and Madden for NFL.
I love Herbie and Fowler for a big CFB game. Also for those of us who are Saints fans Jim Henderson and Hokie Gajan (RIP) on the radio were very entertaining with Jim’s passive aggressive pissed off tone and Hokie’s constant bitching when the Saints were playing poorly.

I know people will shite on them but I always looked forward to Verne and Gary. Felt like a big game just hearing their voices and hearing the theme music.

I always enjoyed Ron Franklin (RIP).
I always felt like Rod Gilmore is one of the worst.

I tend to turn the volume down and just wing it myself. Can't speak for my wife, but I've always enjoyed listening to someone who gets it.

Sorry. I mostly end up muting all of them. They will go off all the time on things that have little to do with the game going on out there. When I mute, it's exactly like I'm in the stands watching the game without running commentary. I can see for myself what happens without 'subtitles.'
The only time I will take the mute off is when there is something controversial going on or a review. Then, I'll want the lowdown. The mute also allows me to ignore irritating commercials.

I'll take Mowins for a softball game, no problem. Football is silly as a woman just simply has no personal point of reference.
But it is funny as you can tell that Mowins has spent decades trying to sound like a male football announcer, same accentuation, phraseology, etc

Gus Johnson has been my favorite for the past 6-7 years. Dude's on point and sometimes hilarious

Dandy Don Meredith
He even kept his cool the time a drunken Howard Cosell threw up all over his new cowboy boots while in the MNF booth.

Joel Meyers. I know he does mostly Pelicans basketball, but he does Saints preseason games and has done football in the past. Just something about the sound of his voice.
