Below is an analysis of SEC teams' composite talent vs. their win percentage by year between 2019-2023.

Of course, we find that Vanderbilt is the biggest underachiever. Congrats, Vandy

Mizzou's talent level has gone up every year since Eli has been there and it shows. He just needed some time to climb out of the hole Barry dug.

Yeah remove their 2019 season and they're right there w/ Florida. A&M & UTx are really bad too.

Are you guys seriously the ones to talk about removing 1 season? Lmao the only thing I can remember about Tennessee football from 2010-2021 is y’all had a bald motherfricker named Josh Dobbs

The math says you underachieve every other season

LSU is right in the middle of the chart. Odd that your eyes went to LSU. The outliers are the covid season and Orgeron's last hurrah for LSU. This chart really shouldn't include 2020, if it is giving "credit" for highly rated players who opted out during the global pandemic.

In my expert opinion, these charts also fail in rating a 5-star freshman the same as a 5-star, three-year starting junior.. The best example being the Texas A&M season with its historic recruiting class.

Well LSU is high on talent and middle of the pack in win %.

All these teams went through Covid... And some people had a year of Matt Luke on this chart... Just saying.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say any team would drop if you remove their best season during this period.

I'm a little surprised we didn't "win"

In my expert opinion, you are correct, sir.

As someone who’s had both: Would you rather another year of Matt Luke or another year of Coach O?

Can we just get the death penalty that year?

Probably O, only because the amount of talent he could bring in, Luke wasn't a bad recruiter but not like O.

As long as you have somebody that can coach following him, you could make a jump for a few years.

Except it doesn't? Ed Orgeron's last two years LSU underachieved, overachieved in 22/23, and had a perfect season in 19. So if you really think about and you cancel out the underachieving and overachieving seasons, LSU has only had perfect seasons in the last 5 years.

This is really a rough look for Texas considering they were playing a Big XII schedule.
