Downvote away, but I ask this in all sincerity. The vast majority of Bama fans I encounter are Braves fans, and most of Alabama’s population is closer to Atlanta than New Orleans, so why don’t you pull for Atlanta’s football team? I’ll hang up and listen.

That’s fine, my friend. Do you have a NFL team that you pull for or are you strictly college football?

Birmingham has a mix of Saints, Cowboys (of course), Falcons and Titans fans. I root for the Falcons and Braves. NFL isn't even in the same stratosphere as college here. My favorite is when I meet a Saints-Braves fan. Makes no dayum sense.

Nobody really roots for a pro team here, unless it's the Braves.

Yes very few within Alabama are loyal fans of any NFL team. The only ones I am aware of are a modest amount of Saints fans in Mobile for obvious reasons.

There are not many NFL fans in central or north Alabama period. Sure they may watch NFL games, but just because it is football. If anything, north Alabama has more Titan fans than anything. Some of that is proximity, some of that is Derrick Henry.

The only real place there are numbers of NFL fans is in Mobile. They are Saints fans. Mobile is about 150 miles from New Orleans. Mobile is about 350 miles from Atlanta.

That is the answer.

Probably a lot of bandwagoners who became fans of both during the late 2000's.

90% of my NFL fandom is who has the most fun Bama guys to watch. I typically root for NO if they make the playoffs though. They were contenders, fun, and got a lot of local games when I was a kid

I grew up in Mobile and was a fan of both long before it was cool. There has always been a large number of Saints fans and Braves fans in Mobile. Remember Hank Aaron was a Mobile native.

Why?

The middle of the southeast is an MLB black hole. You're either Astros or Braves.

Im a Packer fan and the only time ive ever been to Wisconsin was to watch a game.

All of the professional games that get shown locally here are teams from texas. cowboys, rangers, stars etc.... I hate texas.... if the longhorns were playing the taliban id root for the taliban.

Packers
Thunder
Rockies
Devils

Broncos only. Though, I do love it when the Saints kick the Falcons' arse. I'm from Mobile originally. The only baseball to watch back in the day in Mobile was the Braves really. Before TBS for me, it was the Red Sox.

Most in Alabama don't gaf about the NFL tbh. Why should they when they have an NFL-like team in Tuscaloosa?

It's kind of like MLB in Louisiana. There's a lot of Astros fans, but also plenty fans of other teams. Braves and Yankees come to mind.

Pirates probably will be big climber.

Mainly giving them a hard time... Because the Saints beat up on the Falcons. I don't give AF who you root for or why, just don't jump ship when the going gets tough.

And it has been very tough.
