I mean according to aggy they ran the state due to the SEC helping recruiting circa 2014 so it has to help right?

Initially it will help.. I think OU needs to be careful about how they approach recruiting and their on field success for the next few odd years.
As a worst case they risk suffering a similar fate to Nebraska.

it 1000000% helps, this the best overall athletic conference in the country, recruits want to play in the SEC theres no way around that.

Is this a serious question?

Texas and OU: Helps
Rest of SEC: Hurts
Rest of SEC: Hurts

Maybe it’ll help them recruit outside of texas, they will need to to be competitive.

I thought Alabama fans are smart. They should already know the answer to this question.

DFW metro is an hour drive from the Oklahoma border. For the northern half of the metro area, OU is the closest major CFB program.
We have nothing in common with Nebraska’s situation despite your wishful thinking.

cannot hurt, they already sucked! JB just scored another touchdown on OU.

NIL will play the biggest role in recruiting for all SEC teams.

Might hurt A&M, Arkansas, and to a lessor extent Missouri, but has literally no bearing on the rest of us.

It’s not going to hurt Mi$$ouri.
We will be fine.
We will be fine.

It's going to help. And they are the furtherest west so they will get some from the west coast since those are traveling to the east coast for games now anyway. Texas is going to be good this year.
And it won't make any difference as we all maul each other.
Again.
God Loves The SEC.

They have one of the best collectives in the country. Heck, in 2022 they were bad (6-7) and still had a terrific recruiting class. They signed several players that they honestly had no business getting, because they handed out bags. OU will be fine.

Please elaborate.
I'm sure this isn't the first time people have heard this.. but I'll entertain it.
OU has benefited greatly from dominating the Big 12 over the last 20 years. Yall have won 12 conference titles in football since 2004. With all due respect the conference has had different forms over those 20 years but you won the conference more times than not for the last 2 decades.
Well.. you're not in the Big 12 anymore. And while it's certainly possible to win the conference now that you're in the SEC.. The clock will be ticking. Your selling point of being consistently in the conference championship picture and by proxy only a small ways off from a national championship run will not be what it once was.
The irony is not lost on me that I'm saying this as an A&M fan who hasn't won any conference title since the mid 90's - yet we're able to pull in top 10 classes. But we're right smack in the middle of the hottest recruiting bed in the country with one of the larger fan bases (and growing). You're a bit further off geographically but texas is still you're primary recruiting ground.. not much further and not much of a recruit target difference than that school over in Arkansas.
Your recruiting will be initially bolstered with the SEC tag, but there's a potential decline that comes with that if you're not able to show much for it. Albeit a bit exaggerated compared to a once prominent Nebraska who has only slipped in relevancy since joining the Big 10. Nothing is guaranteed here but a similar end point is possible for OU given enough time without any significant runs.
My 2 cents.
