Georgia is the better hitting team, but SC is better on the mound. Georgia has shown improvement on the mound as they have the pitcher of the week in Leighton Finley. Insert spider tack joke here.

When Will Tippett went out we got worlds better at the dish. Our defense is not quite as good, though I think the run production has improved more than enough to justify it.
should be a good series overall

Guessing we would need a double sweep and couple in SECT. Hoping we solidify regional host with 4-2 and a win in SECT, which should give us a favorable region

The winner of this series is a lock for a regional host along with the big 4 (this season).
The loser and MSU will fight it out for the 6th and possibly 7th spot.

At a minimum, I think 18 wins are needed to get a top 8 seed. UGA's problem is that they got a shot vs UT, UK, & A&M but failed to be any of the 3. Plus the big Vandy & Bama series wins don't look as good anymore since both have fallen off a little.

The winner will be 15-12 or 16-11 in the SEC. UGA has Florida to close the season. USC closes at Tennessee. If whoever wins the series only wins 2 games, They're likely going to need to win their last series to feel really good about hosting. I certainly wouldn't feel like a lock hosting with a 16-14 SEC record.
If USC beats UGA 2/3 and gets swept in Knoxville, I don't see them hosting with a 15-15 SEC record.
It's a big series for sure, but outside a sweep, i don't see either team locking up a top 16 this weekend.

Carolina - Roman Kimball

Im kinda surprised we are starting Jarvis. I’m a big fan of his but he hasn’t pitched since two weeks ago in the A&M series and only got an inning.
Not sure if he was injured or something

Could be an opener type role similar to what we do with Kimball.
2-3 innings for him is a good night.
