List of former champions, in alphabetical order:

Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Georgia Tech
Kentucky
LSU
Mississippi
Mississippi State
Tennessee
Tulane

Current members who have never won a championship;

Arkansas
Missouri
Oklahoma
South Carolina
Texas
Texas A&M
Vanderbilt

Who is the most likely to step up and join the club?

I’m thinking Oklahoma or maybe Mizzou…

Bonus question; does a newbie join the list before Tennessee gets another one?

Oklahoma/Texas are the only ones who can even maybe do it. But Texas only won what, like 3 Big 12 titles?

So i’ll say Okie be default.

Actually with the new rules on buying players only those with mony will have a shot.

Goden flakes
Yella wood
and childrens hopitals dont really have the wow factor they used to have when they were doing it under the table. They will run out of money trying to keep up in these new times.

The Big 12 was pretty rough on Texas; imagine what the SEC's going to be like for them.

Could be rough for the Cows...........

Good question. We have a shot..but so does missou, oklahoma and a&m. Don't laugh. a&m will always have the money to pull in talent. If elko is the coach they think he is they will turn it around like we have. Missou was impressive last year and I have to think they have a shot as long as the coach remains.
As for Oklahoma...let's just say they have proven, to us especially, that they can never be ruled out. They just figure out how to win.

.....just thought I'd give everyone a break from the trolls with a serious answer. As long as kirby is at Georgia it'll be a tall order to win the conference...and bama will always be bama with or without saban.

I think Texas and Oklahoma will both win it within a decade.

And I'm more bullish on TAMU and Missouri than most. They've demonstrated a commitment to recruiting success in this new era. If they maintain that, I think they eventually both get it.

OU and Texas will easily make it before any others that haven't won it. Outside of those two I'm not sure what realistic chance South Carolina and Mizzou have and Arkie would be a long shot. Vandy has no chance in any year ever. that is one that will never happen.

Texas
Missourri
Oklahoma
ATM

In that order. I think Tennessee wins one before all but maybe Texas. Mizzery is getting a lot of love and it ain't unfounded but I am taking a wait and see approach. Oklahoma could shock everyone and win it any given year but they got it to do to for me to buy in. ATM ought to be able to win one occasionally...again, ought to ought to mean something, it has not for most of ATMs existence.

Ole Miss, Auburn, LSU and Florida all could win one any given year. I add Ole Miss 'cause they are on the come in my opinion.

I think Texas is in the top 3-4 teams in the conference this year depending on how well Alabama adapts. Maybe top 2. UGA is the best team in the conference on paper but paper is only handy for wiping ones arse....

Texas is my pick to win it this year.

I would expect both Texas and Oklahoma to win an SEC Title sometime in the next decade.

I think A&M has the resources, so they’ll get one eventually.

I don’t see any of those others ever getting there.
