Since they lack trophies in their immaculate Hall of Champions, they should put this gem in there just to fill space.

Foster will never play another down at A&M. As Elko said, "He's track". Brought in several OL from the portal to address these needs

We just paid the largest buyout in history and it’s not even slightly close. Before that we built the biggest most expensive stadium in college athletics. We’re in the middle of 200 M facility upgrade where we built a new indoor track, new indoor football facility, new academic & wellness center, and updated to the Bright complex. Next up is a 100 M baseball stadium. The oil flow in Aggieland.

Only an aggie would brag this much about spending all of this money with no accomplishments to point to

Is it bragging or stating facts refuting what was said?

To a normal person it would be sad, but to aggy, it’s t-shirt and cup worthy.

no he's not. He's not even a top D1 shot thrower. He doesn't like football and isn't willing to work at it.
As for the firings - the department was bloated and a lot of people had to go. The world is changing and all AD departments are about to experience the same issue with revenues and expenses related to NIL and revenue sharing.

How is a three year starter at Center not performing?
Pretty simple. He wanted to compete in the shot put and not be a part of spring practice. Beyond the constant injuries, his fall performances showed that he had other priorities. The second most important player on the offense needs to be a part of the team (and new offense) in the spring and he chose to be elsewhere. His talent wasn't great enough to overcome lack of participation.
Other than that item, we have a new AD and it shouldn't be a suprise that there are some changes with department staffing. I'm not here to sell anything and I know many will use this to degrade A&M so fire away!

quote:This. The NFL has a salary cap, but it doesn't limit what Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce make on their sponsorship deal with State Farm. But, as you point out, in college football, those sponsorship deals are driven by booster egos, not by economic decisions.
I don't really understand the people who think a salary cap is coming or would fix anything.
College football is different than the NFL in that we have boosters who are willing to spend stupid amounts of money to see the school they graduated from (or support without graduating from) succeed.
The courts have made it clear that it's going to be okay going forward for these boosters to give money to recruits and players dependent upon them playing for a school and that no restriction by the colleges or NCAA (or any other organization) will be allowed to limit that.
That means even if you pay players and institute a salary cap on what their paid from the school, the boosters will still be able to set up NIL deals to pay the players above the salary cap to play at the school.
As long as it's legal to do that and boosters still want to pay stupid amounts of money for their team to succeed, no salary cap will work for college football. Professional teams don't have boosters like college football does. The professional model of balancing the playing field only works if boosters disappear.
There's never really been any logical reason for boosters to exist. It doesn't make sense to give prospects thousands or millions of dollars just for your alma mater to win football games any more than giving money to pro-players through advertising deals to sign with your favorite pro-team makes sense. That's completely legal, but it's a non-factor in the pro game because pro football fans don't have the mentality of throwing money at pro athletes just to get them to sign for their favorite team.
But that mindset exists in college. And as long as it does, with the courts decisions on NIL, salary caps in college serve no purpose.

He wanted to go to Texas, and could have trained with the Olympic Gold Medalists and prior NCAA Champions, but momma is a red arse aggie, so he went to A&M.
His footwork was not indicative of an Olympic caliber athlete.

Looks like most of the staffers let go were Senior level positions. Trev bringing in his people.

There was always an "under belly" of college football and its about to get worse. Like you said players want it and so theyll be viewed like assets instead of people.

You just had massive layoffs in athletics, you had to hire a bargain basement head football coach and the only NIL battles you can win to bring in recruits & transfers are against non-power conference schools. Other than all that, I guess everything is just fine.

Sad to see a school like Aggie that does nothing but talk about how much money it has falls into times like this.
