These GMs are overthinking things not drafting Brock Bowers

Everyone has biases, but Brock Bowers is the player in this draft class most likely to be a Hall of Famer imo. He weighs 240 pounds, catches everything and runs like a 180 pound wide receiver. He's one of the five fastest Georgia players that I've ever seen with the ball in his hands. All you have to do is look at his first career touchdown...

Then there's the time he split the entire Georgia Tech secondary...

The fact that Bowers may not be drafted in the top 10 is just bizarre. People want to compare him to Kyle Pitts, but Kyle Pitts runs stiff like a tight end. Brock Bowers runs loose like a wide receiver.
All of this "position of need" shite goes out of the window when it comes to someone like Brock Bowers, and it's just a matter of GMs being too cute and overthinking the situation. I hope all their asses get fired one day!

Days before the draft, NFL teams are sending out more misinformation and subterfuge than a political convention. Relax.

I agree. He is an immediate starter and pro bowl type player who will have a long NFL career. You can shore up a position for the next decade with an impact player.

I’d love either of my favorite teams to have him

I think it depends on the team and scheme; if you have a QB already, he could be the missing piece to open up the offense. Especially if you have a strong OL too.
If you don't, he's a wasted pick. He's not going to be a major factor blocking to help the run, and if you have to bring in and develop a QB half his career will be over by the time the QB is good to go.
Buffalo would seem the obvious destination. KC, if Kelcie retires.

Where they get drafted doesn't really mean shite as far as their career goes, outside getting drafted to a shitty organization.
Not sure why you even remotely care about this.

His blocking film is excellent.
At UGA, he was the beneficiary of being the motion man over half of the time. So he almost always had leverage on the defender. But he has great form and finishes blocks.
Can he "reach" for more difficult blocks? That is the question about his blocking. He will not be the motion man in the NFL like he was at UGA.
But no GM is expecting him to be a 3rd OT. And no coach is going to ask him to be either.
But you are absolutely incorrect to suggest that he won't help the run game.

Bowers is a more versatile Todd Gurley.
+ balance
+ burst
+ size
+ pass catching range
+ top speed (for size)
+ blocker split wide
+ ballcarrier YAC
+ positional versatility
He has NFL average hands
And you can lock him up with a rookie contract.
Durability should be better than Gurley with positional value.

He will be fine. He’s a major problem for LBs.

Brock Bowers is the best player in the draft. GM's are sending out smoke screens so they can have him fall to their team. I haven't seen a TE with his athleticism since Keith Jackson at OU. If I were a GM and had the first pick I take Bowers. There's that.

There's a 10 million dollar difference in signing bonus between the 5th pick and 12 pick, genius

Seems a little harsh. It’s a beautiful Spring Friday afternoon. Nobody should be this upset about some people (whom you don’t know) possibly deciding to pick one football player over another football player (also neither of whom you know) for their team.

It’s not that Brock Bowers isn’t a fantastic player.
It’s that he plays TE
It’s that he plays TE

I really want my Bengals to draft him first round
Posted on 4/19/24 at 2:43 pm to Violent Hip Swivel
No they really are really not. He plays tight end. Why would a team waste a 1st rd pick when you can get great tight ends in later rounds?
