So many similarities other than basketball vs football.

Big time money gamble for Arkansas.

Cal seems washed up and his stats at Kentucky are not very impressive at all, especially recently. Even worse if u consider the talent level he was recruting at.

Give Ark credit for swinging for the fences. Problem is, they didn't learn from our mistake of hiring a huge brand name that seems to be in a downward spiral. Kentucky fans jumping for joy. Kinda like FSU fans and Jimbo....time will tell.

Time will tell if he's fired up to prove his doubters wrong, or just wanted a change of scenery.

It will be interesting to watch. I'd want an X's and O's coach these days of NIL. Recruiting has changed ...

Cal is Jimbo 2.0. He’s going to make a little extra cash in Fayetteville and then hit the exit.

What are the similarities?

Cal has coached 32 seasons, won a national title and played for two more. Reached the Final Four 6 times. Won 18 conference championships and has won 76% of his games and is in the Naismith Hall of Fame.

Jimbo has been a head coach for 13 seasons, won a national title and won 3 conference titles.

Not seeing how those two are very relatable as there are two different class of coaches.

Haha, good one.

Fisher went to aggy where coaching careers go to die in all sports.

We aren’t giving him a trophy with a blank date on it for a natty, we’re just asking him to bring in quality players and give us exciting seasons which is less pressure than he has at Kentucky.

Who better to fill an empty roster than him and hopefully that happens. If he doesn’t get it done in 5 years then at least he’ll have kept us in the spotlight while he was here.

We don’t share the delusions of grandeur that texas programs have, y’all are full of shite.

Well first off waaaay different situatoion. We didnt offer a long term contract with a huge buyout. Only an aggy would do that

2012 national champion.

6 final fours.

2002 NIT champion.

6 SEC tournament championships.

6 SEC regular season championships.

4 Conference USA tournament championships.

5 Conference USA regular season championships.

5 Atlanta 10 tournament championships.

5 Atlantic 10 regular season championships.

I don't see any similarities.

No matter how much postseason success he ends up with here, he will routinely wipe the floor with most of these SEC scrubs currently projecting their wildest dreams of Arkansas failure onto a hall of fame coach

No. Arkansas didn't hire another Jimbo. They hired another Bobby Petrino, without the upside.

Honestly ... they hired Bob Knight at Texas Tech ... except this guy can't coach in game. Enjoy winning draft night and recruiting ratings.

No. Jimbo sucked outside of a couple years he had an elite QB. Cal actually has had success over the course of his career even if he only has one title to show for it
