It's too bad the brand kinda fell off the OG UA commercials were so good.
We must protect this house!

the new nike mlb uniforms look really bad.

I don’t know if they try to match it. I know I’m behind on things but I don’t know how much longer UA will even be around

Those are actually manufactured by Fanatics brand via a Nike sub agreement. It’s pretty well known and a marketing ploy
Pretty sure Nike manufactures their own collegiate wear.

I’m betting it could be done… AU has done way more for UA than the other way around

Absolutely.
I don’t care what our uniforms look like anymore.
If we want to sign the best players in basketball - we have to change to Nike.
It’s not a negotiation at all.

Yep. The gear itself isn't actually all that important (though obviously Nike is just better quality as far as footwear goes). It is the access it brings in the basketball AAU circuit that matters. It is absurd it is the way it is, but that is basketball.

So we will be UA no matter what this coming fall, correct?

Never been UA nor swoosh, what's it worth?
Because it seems like everyone wears whatever footwear they want? (basketball wise)
Is it the contract or the connections?

For basketball, a lot of the AAU camps and stuff are run by Nike or under armor. There are some that Bruce legit just can’t go to because we aren’t a Nike school. That has become less important than say 8-9 years ago, but it is still a decently legit impact.

The deal is supposed to be announced officially today.

For those who like AU gear and wear a lot of ties. There's an old AU vineyard vines tie that is super unique. Kind of hard to find (I think?) but I picked one up on eBay years ago.
It's definitely a conversation starter and the logos are small enough to not be offputting in the office/meetings.

My mom gave me this tie years ago for a birthday or Father's Day or some such occasion. I wore it this January when I delivered her eulogy at her funeral.
Basketball season wasn't the same without texting her during the games or sending her my favorite tweets from the next day. Section 52 in JHS won't be as fun in the fall either.
Sorry for the downer.
War damn eagle, mom.

Sorry for the downer.
I purchased a tie in my mother's favorite colors after she passed. They're way way brighter and more vibrant than anything I'd wear on my own. Pretty much only break it out for select occasions but it takes me back every time.
