First off, I like Woodfin. He's the best mayor Birmingham has had in a long time and has been a net positive for the city.

But come on man!

quote:

He also addressed how it would affect sports programs at state universities:

“To the leadership, athletic directors and coaches at University of Alabama, Auburn University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham: Do you support this prohibition of diversity and inclusion?”

He also appealed to potential student-athletes and their families:

“To the parents of minority athletes who are helping their children decide if they want to play sports at those institutions: Would you be cool with your child playing at schools where diversity among staff is actively being discouraged?”

What does DEI have to do with collegiate sports? Seems like a nonsensical thing to say.

Woodfin is far from the best mayor Bham has had. I think he's an idiot.

It's impossible to be a good mayor of Birmingham. There literally is nothing inside the city limits that inspires. Maybe a few downtown areas near the Civic Center and possibly some areas near Avondale are OK, but otherwise the city is just being drained by a huge number of low life government dependent people.

No mayor that urges good up and coming men from higher learning in their own state is a good mayor.

Needs to get the frick out and suck Klaus Schwab’s wrinkly old Jewish cock if he likes that idea so much.

This clown needs to focus on the crime rate as one of the most violent cities in the united states, and not worry so much about diversity and equity. What an IDIOT!

No disrespect but I’d imagine if a kid got a football scholarship to the University of Alabama, the last thing his parents would care about is their DEI policy.

That’s fine. We’ll just combine to steer people away from Birmingham and towards the suburbs. Let’s see who blinks first.

That’s an incredibly low bar.

frick him. He encouraged the rioting in 2020. He's cut from the same cloth as Tricky Dick Arrington....Birmingham's first jailbird mayor.

Y'all are so funny to me Y'all basically are saying that black people have no place or not accepted anywhere other than the sports arena. IF they aren't on the field or the court for your team, then they damn sure shouldn't hold any position qualifications be damned.
