An arrest warrant has been issued for former LSU football player Kayshon Boutte for charges related to online gaming, the WAFB I-TEAM has learned. He is being charged with Computer Fraud, a felony, and a misdemeanor count of Gaming Prohibited for Persons under 21. He is expected to turn himself in at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison later today.
He is also accused illegally gambling, using that fraudulent account, to place thousands of different bets including some on LSU football. The wagers and payouts involved “several hundred thousand dollars,” said one source familiar with the case.
Some of the wagers were allegedly placed while he was still a player at LSU in 2022.
He’s fricked. Now we know why he sucked arse in 2022.

More players than we realize are involved with this. Especially with the amount of NIL money going around.

Wait, if you get a warrant in Louisiana you check into a prison?

It’s where he’s processed and then released on bail.

NIL is more likely to disincentivize this behavior than incentivize. The risk goes up.

If he bet on LSU games LSU might be fricked..there could be an NCAA/Federal inquiry for fixing games.

Not from my experience. College kids with no financial sense make dumb decisions. I played D1 at a smaller school and every time off-campus checks and Pell Grants hit, a large group of players would always go to the casinos and spend the hell out of that money. It's on a larger scale with NIL especially with online gambling legal in a lot of states now.

He was betting overs when he played OM. Always went nuts against the Rebs.

They have yet to hammer a program who had players do it, so unless the coaches were running it, only Boutte is fricked, and anyone else (involved) he drags down with him.

How would LSU be complicit? If anything, they are a victim.

If he’s betting on a random game he’s not involved in, I don’t see the issue. But betting on a game you’re playing in is “how you gonna get fired on your day off” level dumb.

Ah frick.
For all the NIL bitching, THIS is something that has the potential to completely destroy the game.

You're telling me a kid who is only at a school for NIL is less likely to point shave, etc than a player who has their heart and soul invested in playing for Ole Miss, Georgia etc because they are life long fans?
Gonna have to disagree with you there.

How many players might have been involved? It's a violation any way you look at it. There likely WILL be an investigation to see who may have been in on it.
