Between transfers and NFL declarations, Bama has lost 41 players. Schools are allowed 85 scholarship players. This means, discounting walk-on players, Alabama has lost just shy of half its team since the end of their season. And that’s on top of losing virtually their entire coaching staff.

With the lone exception of Chokelahoma who simply handed the keys to a popular coach already on staff, mass exoduses happen with every coaching change.

The big difference here is the mass exodus usually consists of players that were either underperforming their high school rating, or not the quality of player needed to help the coach keep their job. This is an Alabama team full of 4-5* players who just won the SEC and went to the playoffs. If it weren't for that nobody would be surprised by this.

Other than the lone example I gave above, coaching staff turnovers are messy no matter where it happens, Bama is no exception. I do think little Nicky thought he could stop most of the bleeding by announcing he would still be around the program, (similar to Stoops) but the problem is he didn't have a young, up and coming coach already on staff to transfer the crown to. I am kinda surprised he didn't put off retirement until he got someone like that on staff, but whatever. It's done now.

At first I figured DeBoer would last about as long as Dennis Franchonie. After seeing these numbers he may not make it as long as Mike Price.

Amazing!

77 days of melting, somewhat of a record.

And now 10 continuous days of Bama threads. Now on late night and weekends. Like CNN for trolls.

Beautiful work, keep it up.

Bama fans are in complete denial that it’s over.
Hiring a no name coach who was just 12-6 at Fresno St. then half of the Bama team leaving is just the beginning.

Some of his comments are cringe worthy yet
he doesn’t even realize what he’s saying. His talk is subconsciously causing players to want no part of this. He actually said on Finebaum “that he is going to have to depend on Saban for advice and he really hopes Nick will answer his calls” WTF? This is weak and the kids see and feel this as evident by the mass exodus. This guy should have come in with a chip saying he’s going to kick arse and keep this machine rolling. That personality is just not part of his DNA. This is going to be a big time mess for Bama. They hired the wrong guy who had a good year at Washington because he had their best QB is program history. He won’t have a QB like that next year or the next
