The SEC has had some good ones over the year. Let’s brag about them. For Alabama, we have:
1. Paul “Bear” Bryant: 232-46-9
2. Nick Saban: 206-29
3. Frank Thomas: 115-24-7

Paul Bryant and Nick Saban were great HC's; however, they weren't very good at coaching bowl games.
Bryant was 15-14 at Alabama and Nick Saban was a little better at 16-7 in bowl games, 10-4 on NYSix Bowls, and only 3-3 in championship games.

Yep, SEC fans need to get this. Oklahoma has twice the pedigree of Texas and I'm not sure it's that close. The Sooners immediately become the 2nd most decorated team in the SEC.

Lets be real, bowl games are bigger competition plus teams have a month to gameplan and take away strengths.
I bet most top coaches had a worse bowl record than reg season record.

I'm not sure I trust your ability to do basic math if you think 16-7 is "a little better" than 15-14 (and Bryant was 15-12-2, not 15-14).

Your numbers seem to imply that Saban was, in fact, REALLY good in bowl games.
I also note that you are only including the playoff championship games; Saban was in fact 6-3 in title games (7-3 if you include his NC season at LSU).
Saban was 12-4 in bowl games (including CFP title games) since the playoff era started.
If your argument is that having a great record in bowl games trumps overall record, then these two tied for #2 must be AMAZING, GOAT coaches:
