“Balanced” doesn’t mean what it meant even 10-15 years ago. If your offense is 65% pass 35% run you are considered balanced.
Patently false.
DeBoer is a good coach but it can also be true that he hasn't fielded a good rushing attack and isn't balanced.

Oh I agree, just saying DeBoer teams have never been balanced.
Maybe playing players who weren't 4* and 5* recruits would be the problem. Now at Alabama DeBoer will have 4* and 5* players that will be a huge improvement over what he had at Washington.

It was a terrible matchup for Texas, they have one of the worst passing defenses in the country while Washington has the #2 passing offense.
He beat Sark last year, too.

Bama could’ve gotten anyone they wanted and they wanted a guy that doesn’t recruit, has zero ties south east of Colorado, has almost no track record outside on naia (zero athletic scholarships). Amazing. Fortunately he will bring his own staff with no recruiting experience or a system to run that will give them an edge. I can’t wait to see this play out.
Don’t forget to mention the legendary coach just down the hall hovering and watching every move the new guy makes.
Wow…

Same situation, they were terrible as a pass defense last year too.
Didn't Milroe throw for 300+ on them this year?
ETA misremembered, wrong Texas school, it was 255 years

Err no that’s a VERY pass heavy and imbalanced offense by any standard.
I admit I pulled those numbers off the top of my head. Probably overstated but point is that more passing to rushing is the norm nowadays. Saban’s switch to a wide open offense with more passing with Kiffin is well documented. He’s pulling in 5-star QBs and WRs from all over the country. Bama is arguably QBU and WRU now. You would have never believed that 10 years ago.

0.
0. Goose egg. Nada.
0 offensive touchdowns vs 3-9 Arizona state with a heisman finalist at qb.
Mega oof.
This news makes me happy

I swear to God, I think some in our fan base would rather have a coaching staff solely from the states of the old Confederacy and run a 1973 offense than win the damn national championship. I don’t care if the coaching staff is Southern, I don’t care if we run the ball, I want to approach the sport as it is in 2024, not how it was, and win the big trophy. Period.
THIS! all of it! I don't care how just be productive. From South Dakota or South Alabama I do not care!Just win baby!

That's great and all but 1 championship last six seasons tells me WRU wasnt his most effective strategy.

Even in the most pass heavy years Bama hardly exceeds 50%. It did peak in 2021 with 53.07% passing plays.
Hope that’s a good illustration of just how far out 65% is. That’s June Jones at Hawaii level or Leach, well anywhere lol.

DeBoer's offense may not be 100% Air Raid but it's much closer to being an Air Raid system than anything else.

“So you pass the ball more than 93% of the rest of D1, have fewer rushing attempts than 98% of D1?”
*pans to DeBoer, who is quite obviously Mike Leach wearing a fake mustache*
