Saban got out while the gettin' was good. 12-team playoff and the emergence of the B1G. Maybe Kirby can hold it together. He is the only one down south who still plays defense.

The SEC was great before Saban and will be after Saban.

All 16 SEC Teams are in the the top 40 of recruiting. They aren't going anywhere

That and adding the metastatic mass of Texas will hopefully do it

The big has won 3 titles since the inception of the bcs/cfp. Counting OK and Tx, the sec has won 17.
The SEC will be just fine!

Considering 4 other SEC teams have won natties during Saban’s time, I’m going to say no.

Just wait until the logistical nightmares of your incongruent geographical footprint manifest themselves. You're going to have far more problems than pulling out your measuring stick to see if you can stack up against the SEC in football. It's going to be fun to watch.

Claiming the B1G plays defense doesn't mean they play defense.

It's simply a reflection of their offenses sucking donkey balls.

Alabama, Florida, LSU, UGA, Auburn (not counting Texas and OU) have won the natty since 2000. Did I miss anyone? Tennessee had one in the 90s.

Ohio State and Michigan (not counting USC) have won the natty since 2000. Did I miss anyone here?

I think the SEC might be okay. When Harbaw leaves, the B1G might be the one falling apart.

Nope!!

The SEC(Tennessee) won the very first BCS national Championship. I believe Saban was 6-6 at Michigan State when Tennessee started the run for the SEC in the BCS/CFP era of National Titles.

3 points ... 1 field goal ... 3 ... points

in the CFP era only 3 teams have scored 3 or less in the Cotton Bowl -

Michigan St 0
Notre Dame 3
Bryan Day 3

even Luke Fickell and Cincinnati managed 6 against Saban

You talking about the South here, not the Midwest. We don't have to get teams all over the country to compete.
